Hi! Well I've been in Barcelona for just over a week and loving every minute of it! The city is great. I really love the atmosphere, it's very chilled, and definately a coffee shop culture! (my way of thinking!!) My stomach is still getting used to the very late eating but it's enjoying the bonus snacks I'm feeding it so all is good and well! On the first day we headed around the old city just wandering around the streets, to the cathedral, along all the back alleys and then on down to the port vell and the beach area which was gorgeous. Hey! Well I am back in the UK now! I decided to treat my family to a Korean meal - thank you to everone who came. Have missed seeing everyone so much was great to get see everyone! So I decided to cook various Korean foods as best as I could! Thank you to my Korean friends - Mrs Jin showing me endless recipes!, Mr Moon for my ace cook book! and to Bongseong middle school for my cooking lessons!! I miss you all so so much! Well I've finally reached the end of English camps! wow - what a long four weeks it's been!! I've had English camps at 4 individual middle schools and 1 combined and then 2 combined elementary school ones! Let me start by telling you the curse of the elementary camps is not broken! You remember last time we had the landslide disaster? Well this time we arrived to no water!! we couldn't believe it!! they had to call in a fire truck to provide water for washing etc at certain times of the day!!! That camp really is cursed!! haha!! Well we've had an interesting week and thought I'd share it with you!! Amy - another native English teacher and I started 4 weeks of camps this week at both middle and elementary camps. We started the week in Mulya - a small village school with just 30 students doing a one day camp which was good fun! We did a few activities including drawing in the dark (with blindfolds) cooking - making a sandwich. I've shown some photos for you to check out. Then this week I did a two day camp alone at Meyongho - anohter village school with 25 kiddies. Hey all! Thought I'd give you a little update on summer time here in Bonghwa. It's definitely my favorite season, it's been so fantastic watching them preparing the paddy fields, standing in their huge hats measuring the water - growing the plants and then separating them across the fields. Suddenly the landscape has turned from brown to green - can't believe everywhere you travel all the fields you see it''s incredible! The best view - ( which unfortunately i can't photograph as it's while I bomb to school with my vice principal!!) is as we drive from Bonghwa to Bongseong. You turn a corner and look over field after field of paddy fields, a few farmers in their brimmed hats in the field, the old blue roofed houses dotted along the field and in the background ... read more
