madre mia!
Juan Lucas
you girls look great!!! So great to get a peak at your adventures. The sisters and I are eagerly awaiting your return and more stories and pictures.
Keep the pictures and captions coming! Love you lots!
yo holy crap, that strawberry yogurt scam is ridiculous. (the smoldering look you have in that pic though i must say is hot hot hot.) glad though that you city gals were alert to all that bs. was pvd amazing? i saw him on nye once in LA. he played pearl jam's 'better man' at the stroke of midnight. it was intrusive, something i'll never forget. all your pics are amazing, the falls and the forest, recolata is both beautiful and eerie at once, i hope i can visit one day where you now are. it's been pouring rain, raining in sheets in san francisco, the worst storm they say in two years. but it cleans the streets and leaves them shiny and brand new looking. it's worth it though just to walk slowly up and down the gleaming street, black umbrella in hand, jacket collar up, steaming coffee warming the palm. we all miss you rose. happy new years. have a great vacation, you guys. keep up the blog and the pics.
Happy New Year Hello Cassandra and Rose,
I am so happy that Rose can travel with you for a few weeks. That is so great. The pictures are wonderful and keep them coming. YOu have seen so much and still more to see.
Jim and I are hoping that we will get to Brazil someday and visit our friends that stayed with us and would love to hear from you and will put you both up and I am sure would show you a great time. They also have 2 daughters about your age. If you need for me to send you their phone number and address again I will be glad to.
We have been having lots of rain and on Jan. 4th we had strong gusty winds and heavy rain and alot of fences have blown down and ours is one of them. We are so glad to have power. Lots of home are without power in the Sacramento area and Davis. Both you and Rose look like you are having such a wonderful time. Both are so beautiful. I am calling your dad today and check in and see how he is doing. I try to call him every other week and have a chat. Got a sweet card from him yesterday. We are both fine and planning for our next 2 trips. March we go to India/Nepal/Bhutan and then after that we are flying to Thailand for 1 week. We will go to Chiang Mai in northern Thailand.
Then in May we are going to Romania on a Humanitarian trip with the Friendship Force and we will be taking computers to a school for the blind.
Wishing both of you a wonderful 2008 and just continue having a fabulous trip and enjoy each day to the fullest. Love you loads,
Madelene and JIm
DUDE! sorry to hear about your stupid knee and ankle thing. good to see it's not getting you down, keeping in true C. Costello form. by the way, thanks for keeping this blog thing. it's really inspirational. makes me think of all the things and cultures i haven't experienced yet. that's really cool your Ecua fam had a little party for you. with the cake and candles, very sweet. those pics of Machu are unreal. i like the one with the lama. and those tombs cut out of the mountain. reminds me of what humans are capable of. but seriously, that shaman picture thing is weird. i'll be looking out for your next entry. _Troy

Glad you got to practice your Salsa and dine on cuy! Great pictures of the chicken feet (yuck!!). I heard they might not allow tourists to the Galapagos soon, so glad you had that opportunity too. Great Blog! Keep the updates coming. Anxious to see Machu Picchu. Love, Aunt Cinder
TO SAY HI AGAIN!!!! Hi Cassandra,

Fantastic trip so far Hi Cassandra, You are having the trip of a life time and I am so glad that you got to have a few days enjoying the beautiful Galapagos Islands. I have a friend the she and her husband were in the Peace Corp. in the 70's and they were in Equador and went to the Islands alot and loved them. I remember her telling me about the turtles and going over to see when the babies are born and they go out to see. I just think it is so wonderful that you are having this wonderful trip and you seem to be loving all of it. Take care dear and be safe and have a wonderful time. Love you, Madelene and Jim
Great E-mail Hi Cassandra,
Cotopaxi Park sounded like a exciting place to go and you were able to have a guided tour for $20. Sounds like a good deal to me.The town of Banos with all of the excitment of the volcano must of been something else. We have loved your e-mails and your pictures. You have taken some great shots. Keep them coming. Jim and I want to go to South America someday. I am so glad you are traveling now and having such a great time. Continue learning about the country and seeing so much. I hope you get to go to the Gallapos Islands. Enjoy each day and we love you. Madelene and Jim

Miss You and Love You....Old Auntie Ann
