bug smasher
Janis and Larry Andersen
Life has its distinctive phases. After a long work career there comes retirement. Long postponed travel and adventure awaited us. To that end we purchased the motorhome and set about seeing the country and visiting interesting places. There have been six round trips between Alaska and Florida each time seeking a novel route. We have visited many places, seen many things of interest and experience some minor adventures – snow storms in the Rocky Mountains, tornados in Arkansas, hurricanes in Florida, the broiling heat of the southwest deserts and the frigid arctic of the Canadian and Alaska wilderness. Always the Bug Smasher brought us through the storms safe and unharmed. After each trip we would scrub the bugs from her grill, bumper and windshield, wax and polish her in readiness for the next adventure. Here is the Bug Smasher in front of Roslyn Café, the opening scene from the bygone TV series, Northern Exposure.
Why bug-smasher? The frontal area of the RV collects every flying insect in its path - truly a bug smasher.
