I LOVE traveling... and sometimes you just have to go alone...Starting my adventure in Thailand-- then off to Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam...I leave on the 10th of Nov.-- and return..not sure quite yet.. brookeleeyogagirl
My goal is to deepen my yoga practice in each city I visit... Emerse myself in the culture, learn a few words and phrases, and most importantly -- laugh ALOT ( mostly at myself).
I figure ----if I wait any longer to be a part of the life that I live inside my head.... if I wait until my bank account is full, for a 'someone' to come with me, till Lucee (my kitty) leaves home, til..... If I don't follow my dreams today, right now, then I am not living the life I was meant to live.......

Nov. 23rd.-- 7Am.. I awake... sore and hungry...I venture out to find food and a nicer place to stay....I find a great French bakery... yoghurt and fruit and a croissant..yum!... Vientiane is a bigger city.. still right on the Mekong River.... Bigger car and trucks...French architecture, lots of temples...still lots of pollution... I find myself a cleaner nicer hotel Douang Deuane Hotel.. close to the river ..good location..... $15 per night... whew... So I move all my stuff and venture out to a day market... Huge building filled with vendors all selling the SAME stuff... I really just dont get it... rows and rows of silk scarves. dresses, trinkets, cheap jewelery, phones galore, shoes, ect.... so odd....Everything is so cheap... but so is the quality.. Luang Prabang is a very small town.. about 3 main streets... no stop lights... crazzzy motorbikes everywhere..One of the main streets in right on the Mekong River... Resturants line up..coupled with massage houses and internet cafes.. Very cute... Breakfast. $3.. Lunch $4..Ice cream-- $2.50- a more chi resturant.. Nov. 22-- I wake for my last day in Luang prabang-- thinking to just relax take it easy til my flight at 8pm to Vientiane, Laos....So 8AM I venture out for some breakfast... stopping at a travel guide shop ( they are everywhere)... just to see what I could do for the day... A group of peeps are getting ready for there trip.. so I inquire... a sweet gal from NY states that she is going for a "easy" bike ride to the waterfall and an 'easy' kayak ... read more

well-- last nght was very chill... My back has been hurting me from falling... what a DORK I am!. ugh!... Got a 1 hour massage- $5..it was GREAT!... I havnt really enjoyed the food here... there is something they put in the food-- maybe a herb or spice-- that doesnt quite sit with me... its in their breads as well.. yuk!..Ive been eating mostly the Organc bars from home ( THANK YOU HEATH! ) and veggie soups..( still a little chunky! ugh! haha!! jk)..... I just realized that I havnt had much protein in the past few days.. and my legs have been shaking when I stand... weird? .. not sure if its the fall or the Malaria pills I have started?.... Soo-- what an adventure so far... I am now in Laos... What a GORGEOUS town Luang Prabang... I booked my flight at the last minute in Chiang Mai... how exhausting... but I did it!...ha! Mon. -- Last day in Chiang Mai-- 9:30 am- Appt. with a hollistic medicine Dr. R..something.. Very sweet humble lady... she take my pulse and measures my blood flow.. "Good flow, good chi'.. whew...:).. then asks what my aliments are... well-- hip flexors, Psoas,and low back pain.. I tell her my story..... Off to accupunture.. Pretty much the same as I did in the states....She is very gentle and calming... I lay with needles for about 20 mins.. then in she comes with the herbs!... think of a fatty rolled joint..or cig... filled with medicinal herbs... it is buring just like ... read more

Sat. 17th. - Just got back from my 2 day 1 night trekking tour into the jungles of Chiang Mai..... Oh what fun...:) Left at 9am ish for 1 hour trip n the back of a pickup with 2 Irish gals, 22 and 24, Aideen and Victoria, 1 Aussie gal,38yrs, Amber, 3 Austria boys, 30's, Christen, Manuel, and Gayard?...and 2 UK boys, Matt and Chris, 22 and 23....Up to the mountains... dirt roads.. village people... We stop to do our 'river rafting ride... umm.... you would like the typical rafting boats.... ya. not so much...we stand on a 'raft' which is made of about 10 -- 15-20 feet long branches of bamboo strapped with a rope.... Four to a raft plus guide.. They have these big bamboo sticks used to push off and direct the raft.. ... read more

Wed.. afternoon-- after a little hassle with my hotel.... ugh..Im finding it difficult to book ahead.. I think Iam just going to wing it next city.. maybe.?.I finally venture out to the Night Bazaar-- from 6pm to 1AM-- Oh what FUN!... two streets or so filled with vendors selling food, clothes, trinkets, CDs., movies, you name it- they have it..and its CHEAP!.. you would be so proud of me..I have not bought a THING!.. oh- just a little day pack. ( thanks again Zank)..Oh - and about 6 Singha beers.. .90 cents each!! hahaaa... I got a little faded all by my lonesome.. just walking around enjoying the night life...The food is AMAZING here~ Curry soup w shrimp.. 3$..and beer..! ha!..LOVE IT!..They have huge tents set up with areas to eat.. Well- first 3 days in BKK... WOW!... how can I put it... LOTS of crazyness going on here... Day 1-- well of course its just like me to 'lose' my return ticket home in the HKK airport.! ha!.. Do you think the universe is telling me something!... on the way here I had been so scared as to what I was going to experience.. language barrier, no groups, no Mom, no scheduled agenda, ect.... so freaked.... Then I get to my hotel.. Bossotel.. nice, clean, friendly.. close to the Shangri la and Oriental.. very expensive hotels... and soon do I realize very FAR from ' foreigners'... just perfect! ha... You can see on the map the places I am traveling.... It's definitely not set in stone, as life is meant for change and new adventures...
