If you read my 1st blog back i May, you'll have read...I quote: "well I left a plush life behind in Dubai 12 days ago to start a new living out my backpack for the next god knows how long. I have a fairly loose plan - to travel as much as Asia as possible, and to stop when I feel like it....maybe next year, maybe never!" Well 6 months on and I've just about run out of cash...it's amazing how far your money can go out here (tip...always carry a bottle of whisky and a jar of coffee, you'll save $$$$...The great thing about India is that you can take your own food and drink to restaurants if you're skint...and obnoxious like moi) so time to regroup and earn some money for plane tickets and ... read more

From East coast Chennai to West Coast Mumbai and all the way back in a week...picking up my travel companion, taking in freaky communes, near death experiences and competing in the international yoga championships. Just another week in the life of bohemian wonder woman...crazy fool she is.... THE VERY BAZAAR My first stop from Chennai (after being accosted in transit by tango pilgrim man in Triplicate....see previous blog) was in the ruin city of Hampi (also named Vijayanagar) This was the most powerful Hindu capital in the Deccan (hindu Indian emire...b4 Raj's and colonialism...wow wonder what would the world be like if it hadn't been carved up....) in the 14th -15th Century...now it's full of Israeli hippies dancing to Goa trance...same same, but different! The ruins looked ancient despite being only 500 years old...the town was ... read more

I’ve just arrived back in the former British colony of India after 3 glorious weeks in Thailand...It's clear that these guys are still extremely bitter about our former history…as I had major visa problems in the Indian embassy getting back over here…In the end they gave me a 1 entry 3 month visa and not multiple entry (and was planning on a nipping over to Nepal …bugger bugger bo***cks… ) It felt like the embassy was preparing me for the hardship of coming back to India. I can’t even describe the culture shock I’m feeling at the moment. I arrived back to more train station nightmares (see previous blog) and when arriving at the small pilgrim town of Triplicate (where I missed my connecting train and was forced to spend the night in somewhere as clean ... read more

Namaste from Bangkok's Khao San Road area....I am one of the 5,000 000 travellers that's descended on this little area's backpacking hostels to party like it's the last night on earth. The net cafe I'm writing to you from is connected to a hostel, where just a minute ago a lagered up middle aged Westerner was kicking off randomly and having a stand off with about 10 staff from the hostel...and it's only 5 pm...christ it's going to get messy here in a few hours! Love this place....when the neon pink taxi dropped me off here from the airport last Saturday I absolutely couldn't stop laughing when we pulled up on Kho San Road...There were casualties sitting and wandering aimlessly all over the place still drinking at 7am...and people still going in the hostel bars that ... read more

Hi everyone, long time no see...please forgive me, I've been busy.... I'm still in Mysore for another few hours, then boarding the night bus to Kerala. This is not a good time to get some kind of stomach ailment, but hey it's all part of the 'experience'...I wouldn't mind so much, but I'm not sick from a street vendor's dodgy masala, but from my own cooking!!! Hahaha. Wish people would stop having staring competitions with me when I'm doubled over in pain....they won't win...Anyhow, despite this tragic ending, I'll miss Mysore, had some great times here, learnt so much, made some lifelong friends, and qualified as a yogini. The last class I taught was really touching, all the students were sad to see me go, but wished me luck. They kept suggesting I get married there ... read more

I didn't know much about Tamil Nadu, that is the most Southern state in India as only just arriving in the country am just getting to grips with Karnataka...but when I got invited to accompany my yoga teacher's family and friends for a week to tour the spiritual South of India on their bus, I thought why not....I really didn't know what to expect which made it all the more fun.... TOURIST ATTRACTIONS We left late in the evening after the bus had been blessed with jostix and candles (as you do) and arrived at 6 am in Pallini to be woken up to the sunrise from the sounds of tribal dancers and musicians marching through the streets. What the *** is going on??? I thought as I looked through the curtains... Temples, Temples and more ... read more

Hi everyone...well I left a plush life behind in Dubai 12 days ago to start a new living out my backpack for the next god knows how long. I have a fairly loose plan - to travel as much as Asia as possible, and to stop when I feel like it....maybe next year, maybe never! My starting address for the first 6 weeks is Mysore India, where I'm living with a guru who is teaching me to become a yoga teacher. His teaching is based on the original Classical yoga of Patanjali who wrote the syllabus 4000 years ago based on the ancient Hindu texts of approx 10,000 years. The excellent Gems of Yoga school in Dubai, who have been my sanctuary for the last 2 years have been great at getting me ready to start ... read more
