Day 4. 1917km I finally slept past sun up today so did'nt break camp till about 11am. After a quick stop at The Source for a fuse for my electric cooler I rejoined my traveling companion from the day before, HWY 132, and continued down the coast. The first couple hundred klicks were, as expected, reasonably flat running along the waters edge. I stopped at the IGA in Matane for some lunch supplies and a steak for dinner. After lunch is when it got interesting. The terrain started to roll and so did the road. Grades from nine to 15 degrees were the norm. I was glad to be driving a diesel for the torque. The only thing that would have been better is if it had the 6 speed stick behind it. I was excited ... read more

Day 3. 1447km I awoke at 5am. I guess that's what happens when you go to bed at a descent hour? By 6 it was clear my mind was too active to let me sleep any more so I made some breakfast and packed up. I was on the road before 8! Quebec City was my next destination. I figured I'd park somewhere, unload the bike and ride around the olde city. Well! There are motorcycle restrictions on some streets in old Quebec and since I had spent a long weekend there previously I drive on. Although the HWY 20 super slab would be the fastest route, I'm not in a hurry so I started my journey down HWY 132 which runs along the edge of the St. Lawrence. I'm pretty sure I was looking at ... read more

Day 2. 846km It was still pretty damp from the rain we had the night before as well as overcast and cool so I decided to drive into Montreal rather than ride. Had a look around... looks like any other large city. One thing I've never seen before were the Electric bicycle vending machines in the core of the city. Found a Mexican place for some lunch and headed back to the campground. The skies had cleared and I wanted to get some riding in. I noticed, coming back to the site, a small road that appeared to follow a river as I crossed above it so I got on the bike and headed back to it. I rode to St. Jean-sir-Richelieu where I crossed over the river and headed back the other side. I stumbled ... read more

Day 1. 640km After too many recent late nights I dragged my blurry eyed ass out of bed at 8am and finished loading up. A quick visit with a friend who just returned from 2 months in Europe and I was leaving the city by noon. Day one was all about getting out of dodge and not sight seeing so I just took the 401 to HWY 20 at the Quebec border. The Quebec info booth was closed but did provide a wireless connection so I could find a camp site. I rolled into Saint-Hilaire, QC about 8pm and set up for the first time.... read more

I've got the trailer pretty much loaded up. Something made me measure the drop down bed and I realized it is a queen so I had to get sheets. I've tested strapping down the bike and have my 150+ litres of Pepsi secured. Still waiting on the board from Mike to mount the TV.... read more
