Christ the Lord is Risen Today... - John Daker I miss you and your laughter, I even miss the grumpy side of you. Dallas will come to miss that as well.
Hey Hi,
I was just reading your latest blog. I enjoyed the section on the food, because I was curious about it.
I also liked the ancedote about your cliff climbing experience. Hey we all let our emotions get the best of us. Especially when we are in a strange environment, tired and our adrenalin is rushing. We all say things we regret. You didn't fail any test. Life is an experience and we learn something about ourselves everyday. Recognizing our mistakes and then learning from them, then saying you're sorry when you feel your wrong; that's what I call passing any test god can hand you with an A+.
Enjoying your blogs,
Dana
Hey there Hey, it's your cousin Dana.
Your adventures are amazing. I always admired Jane Goodall for her braveness, following her heart, devotion and sense of adventure. You really emulate those qualities. I wish I could, but I get scared hiking if there is a mountain lion sign posted on the trail.
I will just stay safe in my computer chair and enjoy reading about your adventures and admiring all the great photos (Mt. Fuji especially).
Take care,
Dana
The food It is so cool to read your adventures. Its like reading a good book. You are a great writer and so detailed. I have really enjoyed it!
So tell us about the food. Is it good? Do you get to eat much? What is the most interesting thing you ate so far?
Love you and be safe and RUN from the big hairy beasts in the jungle.
Love, Ry
dear friends, hey kids. i miss you both terribly. i am praying for you and your adventures. I hope you both are growing closer to the Lord and learening more about Him, and yourselves. i can't wait to see you both again....until then, cheers!!
Soon! Hey! I'm excited to see you soon!!!!!! I'm praying for you and am glad you are learning a lot on your trip, even as you did not count on learning all of this so far! And we won't have greek hanging over our heads as we hang out in Thailand (but Doc will still be there if we want some help I'm sure!)
This is my Father's World You reminded me of one of my favorite hymns; here's the last verse of the song:
This is my Father's world. O let me ne'er forget that though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet. This is my Father's world: why should my heart be sad? The Lord is King; let the heavens ring!
God reigns; let the earth be glad!
Although Christ is king, the reality of His kingdom has not come fully, but it will; and we have the opportunity to bring healing and restoration to our broken world while we wait for Christ to come again and make all things new. I can relate with the desire for good solid christian fellowship and being separated from that for a long time (however, you are gone even longer.. :) Anyways...i'm not preaching at you, i'm agreeing with you and i look forward to hearing more of your journeys. thanks for being so honest keeping us up-to-date! (:
Hey there I know you are having a great time. Just remember, the LORD made everything, and in everything there is purpose. When you look around, you will see God's glory. We can never expect to see it in man....I hope these words are encouraging because that's how I mean them. I love you. Daddy
Thanks! Becky!
Thanks so much for this encouraging and thought-provoking entry. It is really neat how no matter where we are or where we look, if we are not straining to look in the face of God, we are missing the point. I can't wait for heaven either! (or for you to come home!). Just to encourage you, remember that God is your refuge and strength sufficiently, no matter where you are or what your circumstances are. I love you!
OOOHHH! You two keep me in stitches! I think I've laughed for 5 minutes straight. Fanny pack....animal whisperers....bugs and butterflies. The entertainment for any of us reading never ends. Becky, you are so fun and write so well. What treasured memories you are creating. Such fun! Dallaaaxxxx, I love and miss you. Going to the butterfly garden here in Gainesville always reminds me of you. Have you collected any bugs for pinning? I'll get that answer in a few months or so...

Okay, I'm really Jen Turner Reading words from you makes me laugh so hard! This entry has been one of my favorite. Thanks for that. And really, your pillow is full of skeletons which is weighting it down! Gross! The parasites are going to feast on that fluffy head holder. (Okay, I don't know if that's a fact because I just made it up but it could be. You don't know.) Write soon because I miss you and I'm so tired. Two good reasons to write wouldn't you say? I love you.
I am a little behind in reading these because of finals, but it was a wonderful study break to read about your time in Singapore. It sounds incredible. I love you Becky!
far far away I should be memorizing Spanish vocabulary right now (you may recall that funny phenomenon we call finals?), but reading this is way more fun. Speaking of vocabulary, how cool is it that you can speak even three words in Malay. I'm pretty sure I don't know anyone else who speaks any Malay. What other exotic phrases have you picked up? Anyway, thanks for the distraction, and definitely keep the adventures coming. And may you not birth bugs out of your face. Grace and peace to you!
Hi my love! Okay ...I just checked my UC Davis e-mail acount today and was overwhelmed. I acually called you a few weks ago and left a mesage on your parents answering machine and was a little butt hurt that you hadn't called me back...now I see why. I am so hapy for you, you must be having the most amazing time ever!! You are so beautiful and I am so proud of you! If you get a chance will you change my e-mail address to sandylu-82@hotmail.com...that's the one that I check the most. I hope you have amazing adventures and I can't wait until you get back so you can tell me all about them! Love ya! (and yes I am aware of my over usage of the exclamation point in ths entry!)
You & Brad......and your bug's I can't help but laugh when I read about your paricite...reminds me of Brad and his tape-worm. So glad you and Dallas are having a great time. Be safe. So glad that you have taken those moments to share the Gospel, when possible. I'll be praying for you both. Love Mom
I went to Disneyland with your familia (that means family) I am so tired so I haven't read your news article yet about Malaysia and other things. But I am having a hard time from missing you. I'm very emotional about it as well. So badly I just want to hear your voice. Is it really going to be three more months?! Be safe, enjoy, I love you. E-mail me soon!
sensei I know what you mean. I taught Kyle how to play Word of Warcraft, and now his druid is higher level than mine. Its funny, your spending all this time seeing the world, and I'm spending all this time IN Word of Warcraft. Our lives are so similar.
love
Brad

it makes me happy that you are having a good time on your travels. the photos are really wonderful as well.
have fun and be safe...
SAT question Becky, You are so funny! I wish I could be there with you because it sounds amazing. When I read about bugs:Dallas as plants:Becky, I thought of the SAT's. Thanks for that. You know, I think your adventure with Dallas is what it would be like for me to travel with Nathan. So here's my SAT question: Dallas:Becky as Nathan:Alyssa. Big, white, homeless looking guys...who wouldn't laugh at that?
I just graduated college and I started my job last May as a firefighter for the US Forest Service...so much fun, but not my ultimate career choice. The Lord has provided the time and money for me to travel this winter and I am taking full advantage of that! I will leave November 20 and arrive home March 17, 2007. Most of the time will be spent in South East Asia, India, and Europe. I have never travelled like this before and I have absolutely no idea what to expect. It makes me a tad nervous, but I am thrilled and thankful for the opportunity. I can't wait for the unexpected, the awkward momen... full info
