so i finally had to start working again....what a shame....i've enjoyed my time off from working but i'm also glad to be back at work and doing something with my time again!! So I'm now a waitress at the Ben Nevis Hotel & Leisure Club(sounds fancy but its not really!!) The work is pretty straight forward and easy...nothing i can't handle anyways!! I started on Sunday morning at 7am. For breakfast we just have to make sure the hot buffet is topped up all the time and there's always juice...other than that, we only have to clear plates from the tables. ok i think i have left you in enough suspense!! the hostel in edinburgh was great!!! the people there were fantastic, travellers were always coming and going but we always had a little group of people that were staying for a while....we were called the 'long termers' haha so we hung around the hostel for a few weeks looking for work, taking our CV's to shops and job agency's. after a few weeks, one of the job agency's we went to called us and said that we could come in to register with them and then they'll try get us some work. So we registered and within a few days we had some work!! it wasn't great work but it meant we had some sort of income and we could stay here for a bit longer. ... read more

wow long time no talk....there's really no excuse this time but I've been trying to save money and not use internet but I'm fast becoming a 'smart traveller'....i found a local library that has free internet time!! woooohooo!!! so anyways i think you are all in need of an update...i just dont know where to start... after contiki finished we spent a few more nights in the contiki hotel with some other fellow contiki travellers who were flying out after a few days. when we got back to mick & di's, it was like christmas had come again!! after 3 weeks of living out of a backpack with minimal amounts of clothing, we got straight into our suitcases that we had left behind and put on some new and clean clothes!!! oh it was heaven!!! haha ... read more

BONJOUR!! wow what an amazing way to start my tour of europe!! In total i spent 5 nights in France - 2 nights in Paris, 1 night in Lyon and 2 nights in Nice. I seen some of the most amazing sites and ate some of the most disgusting french dishes. My highlights from my time spent in France: 1. Eating snails(ok well i didn't eat a WHOLE snail but I ate half...as I was chewing on one, it broke in half and i somehow swallowed one half and I just couldn't handle anymore and spat the rest out. sorry to leave you all in suspense but finally, the wait is over!! I'm back in London, the tour is over and I have all day to fill you in on what happened the last few days!! ok so the first night in Berlin was at the Generator hostel...the next morning we were up at 730am, on the bus and heading into town for a walking tour with a local guide. The tour went for 3hours which seems like ages but suprisingly it went quickly. The guide took us around parts of Berlin that 20 years ago you would've been shot dead if you walked through there...kind of scary when it was only 20 years ago!! Berlin is still a developing city but considering how it would've been 20 years ago, its definately a nicer city ... read more
