- From: Angkor WHAT?
There is nothing more amazing than being around the temples of Angkor at either sunset or sunrise. The word majestic doesn't even start to describe the beauty or can make one understand the complexity of the masonry displayed at this amazing place. To see an age old jungle taking over what was once a pristine place of worship is an experience I will never forget. To see the bullet holes left by the khmer rouge trying to suppress any type of religion was more than moving. After seeing the temple of elephants and of the leper king, which I must say were 2 of my favourite, the temple of Bayon was one that really stood out to me.I chartered a helicopter to fly over the ruins and it wasn't until we were way up that it was pointed out to me that the mountains that seemed like a blur on the horizon was actually where all the stone had come from for these amazing structures.I have worked in many different trades and I feel I would be hard pressed to find someone that could carve stone with the complexity that these people did hundreds of years ago

Envious - From: Where I've Been and Where I'm Going
So after reading your journal entry, i just wanted to inform you that i as a complete stranger and by chance that i stumbled upon your entry, will be looking at your journey (as you will hopefully post your your journal entries) and that i entirely envy you & am very excited for your trip:))) Im sure your more experienced then i am (alhtough ive had my fair share of travels to guatemala, belize, costa rica, and 11 of the central european countries, mexico&canada(those are easy) and more european countries within this next month) i just wouldnt want anything to happen to you so please take precautions when your a female and by yourself, especially traveling the asian countries, specifically tailand (there has been women kidnapped for sex slaves there) I hope im not being too paranoid, i was raised in law enforcement but am just one woman looking out for another...but your travels sound ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!I myself will be going to europe visiting Amsterdam, Dublin, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Salzburg, and other places in between leaving San Diego California(i live here) on March 14th, coming home the 31st....So how long are you planning on beign gone for? and do you mind me askign how much money youve saved for this trip? im just curious because for my 18 day excursion its costing me $3,000 or more.....Any ways, wonderful luck on your planning, you have less then 2 weeks to go!!!!!yeah!Takre care...oh & by the way my travel blog is: http://www.travelblog.org/Bloggers/Kristianne from last year's europe trip....well take care!!!
