Hi Guys I am back again! In this blog entry I will share my restaurant expenses in Pondy. In Pondicherry there is no alternative for Seafood; it’s fresh all the time. According to me "Satsanga Restaurant" on rue Labourdonnais. The place is cozy place to hang out with friends. If u r visiting the restaurant in the morning then do not miss the Papaya Yogurt it is simply delicious. The staff (waiters) of Satsanga are friendly and most importantly they speak fluent English as well as French. In the evening the place is decorated with candles; which makes the atmosphere more romantic. So guys do not miss "satsanga". On Rue Dumas there is one cafe Le Club (Hotel De Pondicherry). This is also nice food serving place. They serve one interesting dish "Duck Barbeque" it is ... read more

Hi Guys I just want to share my experience with u so that u can take care of these things! While visiting Mahabalipuram; if u r staying in any hotel be it luxury or budget one does not forget to carry u r Mosquito Repellent Lotion. It is advisable to carry it with u whenever u visit any restaurant in the evening coz without applying Mosquito Repellent Lotion it is impossible to enjoy u r food or the night. As Mahabalipuram is small village u do not need to have any vehicle to move around. You will get bicycles very easily for rs 50 per day. If u renting any motor bikes (two wheelers) then be careful with the local traffic. Also make sure that the bike is good condition and gives good mileage as the ... read more

Hi folks I visited Mahabalipuram which is 65 KM away from Chennai on ECR(East Coast Road). The journey from Chennai to Mahabalipuram or mamllapuram is unforgettable due to its magnificent scenic views. It takes about one and half hour to reach mahabalipuram. The place is famous for its stone carvings temples and monuments. The most important places are Shore temple which is a World Heritage site. The monuments are mostly rock-cut and monolithic, and constitute the early stages of Dravidian architecture wherein Buddhist elements of design are prominently visible. They are constituted by cave temples, monolithic rathas (chariots), sculpted reliefs and structural temples. The pillars are of the Dravidian order. The sculptures are excellent examples of Pallava art. It is believed by some that this area served as a school for young sculptors. The different sculptures, ... read more

Visiting Pondicherry was dream came true to me for two reasons one to visit Sri Aurobindo Ashram,Auroville and second one to taste French cuisine. I was in Pondicherry from 29thDec 2008 to 3rdJan2009. Pondicherry is a Union Territory of India 160 KM from Chennai and well conected by road. It is a former French colony, consisting of four non-contiguous enclaves, or districts, and named for the largest, Pondicherry. A remarkable degree of French influence in Pondicherry exists to this date. Pondicherry divided into three quarters French, Muslim and Tamil. The best place to hang out is French quarter. During my Pondicherry visit I was staying at Villa Labourdonnais located at 25 rue Labourdonnais. It is home stay run by a French old fellow Gerad. He is a nice person; so does his family. They take care ... read more
