Hi Guys

I just want to share my experience with u so that u can take care of these things!

While visiting Mahabalipuram; if u r staying in any hotel be it luxury or budget one does not forget to carry u r Mosquito Repellent Lotion.
It is advisable to carry it with u whenever u visit any restaurant in the evening coz without applying Mosquito Repellent Lotion it is impossible to enjoy u r food or the night.
As Mahabalipuram is small village u do not need to have any vehicle to move around. You will get bicycles very easily for rs 50 per day.
If u renting any motor bikes (two wheelers) then be careful with the local traffic.
Also make sure that the bike is good condition and gives good mileage as the nearest gas station from city is about 2 KM towards Chennai.
There is one State Bank of India's ATM center near to bus stand so no need to carry cash with u.
You can try chetinad food (south Indian food) in any restaurant per dish 120-150 rs.
There is also Tourist Information center in Mamallapuram; so for any help u can contact it.
If u want to buy any handicrafts it is best place to buy it but do bargain!
The Five rathas is just 1.5 KM away (close to 1 mile
) from city so to visit this place no need to hire TAXI or Auto rickshaw.
(The auto rickshaw fellow charged Rs200 to me for the trip to FIVE ratahs).
I find the "Tiger Caves' boring and hopeless so if u can avoid it that good. Plus the Tiger Caves are 4KM (close to 2 miles) away from the city.

Enjoy ur stay at mahabalipuram!!!

Bye
Take Care
