Thanks for this George They did a study with rats, and I know this only anecdotally, but in the study the rat is given a treat in a separate place from the cage, somewhere away that requires the rat to do some task to make the door open and then to stick it's little head in to get the treat. The treat always came at different times and freqeuncies throughout the day, which meant the rat spent it's whole life checking this little compartment next to it's cage all day everyday over and over. There was a measurable jump in endorphins when the treat came, just like when we get an important email. And just like the rat we don't know when the email is coming so we find ourselves at work and at home thinking, 'hmmm, I wonder if I got an email'. The brief 'I got an email' rush has made us helpless slaves to the cycle just like the poor rat. It is such a trap, and it has warped our minds and our information and our communication as well as our perseptions of the world and people around us.
So I agree with this email, and thanks for the rush I got when I saw it in my inbox. Now if you'll excuse me I have to rush off to the next flashing image.
Attention Span Good point George. I find it harder and harder to read because my eyes are just touching a word and then flying over to another as quickly as I can recognize the first word read. It's a shame and I know what's going on. I deliberately have to refocus - again and again. It's as incredible as leaving out all vowels in writing so I can write/txt faster.
G-Cosimo!! Hey, G. Sorry it took me so long to read through this story. No doubt it is true. Pretty amazing, isn't it? You did well to keep you cool and not "explode" Not sure I'd have done the same thing -- remember me losing the keys to the truck when we went pheasant hunting in E. WA, about 10 years ago? Not a great example for my children and nephews. Anyways, this was fun to read. Sounds like you made a big impact on the taxi driver.
Love, Dad
maybe you need something the thing you need is a handbag, i can give you my beautiful handbag, then you can put your wallet in it, and hang it around you neck, hehe, you will never lose it again, just kidding. i have got a job, and our father led me to the church. It's amazing, hope you can come here to share the joy with me when you have time. Be blessed my brother!
Lost my wallet, too Any chance mine showed up? No idea where I lost it---It will likely turn up in the refrigerator or freezer. Not an instant of stress, for me---As Forrest Gump says, "Shit Happens."
Interesting Geordie. Are you writing this as a play? Is this based on an actual occurance? Want to hear more about your adventures in Shanghai. Hope all is going well with you. Things here are fine. I am not going to be able to make Lindsay's wedding and am so sorry about that, but physically I just can't do it. Unfortunately, my back is getting weaker and walking is becoming more difficult. It sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun, and all you cousins should have a great time together. hope to see you when you get back home., Love, Nana

Amazing Your experiences are amazing Geord. what is ahead? what about the distribution of the movie? That is the big job. No? You look great and at peace! That makes tis Grandma very very happy. Dallas is becoming a center for filming items. Look at the oportunities here since you have a home with us. Love Grandma
So interesting Hi Geord. This was soooo interesting. I am going to have to reread it several times as you told so much about what you are doing. I love the play "The importance of being Ernest". Were youi going to perform it in Chicago? You have really done a lot of film work and are keeping more than busy. I am so happy to hear that everything is going along well, and that you have a good place to stay with a friend. The pictures are great and you look good and happy. Aunt Ursy is coming to visit on the 10th and we will take the train to Pasadena to see Karin and Cam then go on the Santa Barbara to spend a few days with Aunt Bea (don't think you ever met her). Then back to San Diego and the next day she flies home to Milwaukee. The summer is going by very fast. I have no plans to travel anywhere this year and will not be able to make Lindsay's wedding. Traveling by plane is just too difficult, and although some days I feel "yes" I can make it, other days I know I can't. But, I will look forward to seeing all the pictures on Facebook. Thank you Geord for taking the time to write this blog and bringing us up to date on what you are doing. Love, Nana
Thanks for sharing Geord, this is so interesting and the pictures are a look into a China we never see. I am going to reread your blog several times as there is so much to absorb. It almost sounds like you are getting material for a book. Have you thought of that? When are you going back to Shanghai and will you go back to work there? Think of you daily Geord and look forward to your EMails and Blogs. All is well here. How will you celebrate Easter? You are in my prayers. Love Nana
Thanks Hey loved ones, thanks for your love and support and for willing to go with me on this little blog adventure! I appreciate you all very much. Love, George
Thanks for sharing So good to hear from you George and to know what you are up to and your reflections. I agree with Barbara that you travel inward and outward, and always with an open heart and mind. Sounds like you are bringing much presence to your friends as they wrestle with what is expected and what is envisioned. They are blessed to have your friendship and care.
Hey George Man, this week Shangqiu has been very much on my mind. I actually find myself missing the dirty old place. It had so much charm and it was such a strange and amazing and sometimes frustrating and always interesting place to live. It was a great place to be just for what it did to the brain. I was near insane when I got back. My brain was not working at all.
So funny that this week I have been thinking about Shangqiu and you done drop this in my inbox right on cue. And you tell it just right, and it makes me so homesick. And I love the pictures, I am going to nick all them.
Are you going to work there again or are you just backpacking around? Do you think you could live there again? I think I could, and I can't for the life of me understand why or believe it but I really, really could and may. I don't know. I am in Indonesia which is really great in so many ways but it is not the same as China. China is special, no?
I know we had friction and I always felt bad about that, I feel like my anger has healed a bit since then. Thanks for the great blog and if you see anyone who remembers me over there give them a big hug and tell them it's from me.
happy trails.

Wow Thanks so much for sharing, George. Terrific work. Some of the most interesting people in my life are those whom I know because of theatre. This, of course, includes you. You travel inward and outward, and always with an open heart and mind.
Geordie,
Very good and felt like I was walking with you. Did you also see George and Kevin? Who else? Funny how going back i snever quite the same, even in China ...
Thanks for keeping us involved. I miss you .
