We had another early flight, and had to spend 3 hours in the airport to get there. When we got to our room and after the Mandarin it was a bit of a shock of the state of the room. You may think we have become snobs of hotels but the bathroom was outside so was exposed to all the elements.. After begging and pleading to jen and Vik they allowed us to stay in there family room which was a 1 up and 1 down. We decided to go to the beach, it was possibly the dirtiest beaches I have [View Full Entry]

We stayed at the Maytower Hotel for when we first arrived in KL and tried to find the Hard Rock Cafe for some civilized food. As most of our adventures go we went the wrong way but we did manage to find it after the hot, sweaty and argumentative journey. The KL tower which we could see out of our windows practically from the hotel sounded like the best bet for 1 days activity so we traced up the mountain along some rope bridges and a scary million steps to the tower. It was quite nice but was cloudy. Luckily once [View Full Entry]

We arrived finally and stayed at a fairly nice hotel, we were lucky we picked a good one as the rest of the city is a heritage site and looks like the slums of bangkok again. We had a meal from Swansens which in America as far as Im aware is only an icecream parlour. The next day we decided to go and visit the tower but we were going around in circles and eventually we were told we needed our passports but obv we had them safely locked away in the hotel so that was a bit of a disaster. Langkawi We arrived at our hotel, the colour of the reception was a strange baby pink colour and we thought OMG why did we ever leave Thailand. The hotel room was completly vile also, with the bathroom a horrible yellow and brown colour. We felt as if we had arrived in M&M land, for all that wants to know exactly what I mean by that then contact directly as it may offend. We went to an underwater world which cost us about 7 quid to get in and wasnt really worth the money, it was the only attraction to see nearby [View Full Entry]

Arriving at samui airport we thought we were at an outdoor shopping mall. After you check your bags in, there is a long pedestrianised street with lots of shops leading off of it, and some restaurants. Very weird but the nicest airport ive ever seen! We arrived at the plane after getting on 1 of those buses that take you along the runway and once we saw the plane we were getting on we nearly turned back! The plane was a little bit bigger than a private jet and the propellers were exposed like a little war plane and i felt [View Full Entry]

Going to the full moon party was probably the highlight for us so far. It was like going to ten of the coolest clubs on the same night combined with the atmosphere of pride!! There were 10 different sound stages with music from R&B Rubbish - Hard House/ Electro House/ Psy Trance and everything in between. Everyone gets UV painted hence our funny faces and makes friends with lots of buckets of joy the whole night we spoke to people from all around the world including Oxford Princesses who practically hated every moment to dread-lock hippie types. We partied until the [View Full Entry]

After 2 very hot and sweaty weeks in the cities of Bangkok and Chiang Mai we thought it was about time we put our pasty little white boddies on the beach to tan in Koh Samui. After a quick flight from Chiang Mai we landed at Samui airport (where they have the cleanest toilets Ive ever seen) we checked into a hotel at the southern end of Chaweng beach. Chaweng beach is the main hip and happening resort on the island, and has a touch of the Shaguluf/Benidorm about it, bit chavvy but good fun all the same. Our first hotel [View Full Entry]

Getting to Chiang Mai was always going to be an ordeal, sitting on a smelly, probably decrepit train in a carriage with 40 others for 12 hours had to be slightly uncomfortable... little did we know what we had in store for us! We got to the main train station in Bangkok about 90 mins before our train left, thought this would give us enough time to grab some dinner and to get supplies for the epic journey. We were greeted by a station worker telling us that the station was closed; all trains were not going. At first we thought [View Full Entry]
