Well, we finally got off Phi Phi on Monday. The last week has been a great time. More partying and staying out late than I would EVER do back home, so be proud. Can't say there was too much drinking going on on my part, but nonetheless it was still always a good time. One night I did a Sunset tour of Maya bay (where the beach was filmed). Along the way I got to do some great snorkelling and I also got to Monkey beach with my camera finally! The first time that ash and I went we had to snorkel to the beach just to get there so no cameras that time. This time I had Dee's cam with me, and took a bunch of great photos in and out of the water. Also, ... read more
Yes, I know. It's been awhile since last I wrote. If I had anything to write, I really would. I never wrote about my Golden Triangle Day. That was fun. When we were still up North in Chiang Mai we had to do a border run, so we decided to take the full day Chiang Rai tour that included the Golden Triangle and the Burmese border. We were picked up really early and we met a good group of people on the bus. 3 Canadians (2 from Surrey and one from Quebec) and a Dutch girl. All very nice people. We all had a good time together. We went to a temple in Chiang Rai. For the life of me, (I feel really bad about this now, actually) I can't remember what it's called, and I ... read more
I don't even know if I spelled that right. haha Dedria and I went on a day trip to do some elephant riding and bamboo rafting. It wasn't anything extravagant... no 4 days in the jungle, sleeping with the locals in a hilltribe type thing. Just the one day tour that takes you to the elephant camp and bamboo rafting. We got an oxcart ride out of it as well. After that they took us to a paper making factory... But this isn't just ANY paper making factory... I'll get to that though... We also went to an orchid farm and saw lots of beautiful flowers. We got picked up from our B&B at 9:30 and headed straight to the elephant camp. When we got there, we walked up and immediately saw a male and female ... read more
Seriously, 10 days in Bangkok in a row is BRUTAL! And to think I have to go back there AGAIN at the end of the trip to buy all the souvenirs, go to the tiger temple AGAIN with Dee and stay at the airport hotel again on the night of my birthday... the night before I'm coming home... Yes. I'm coming home on March 16th. I've thought about it and thought about it and thought about it some more... and I've made the executive decision that I'm changing my flight and coming home with Dee. I don't want to incur the debt that I had originally planned on. It's just too much. So, I'm going to leave this beautiful country (minus Bangkok) for my own beautiful country. And I'm going to be home the day after ... read more
Well, it's been about a week since I wrote last... I really don't have much to say... Ashley left... The night before she splurged for a nice hotel at the airport... If this computer was good for uploading pictures, I would. But I'll have to wait till I get a better connection. It was great... The room was gorgeous, it had a separate shower from the bathtub and it was BEAUTIFUL! Clean enough to roll around on, eh Ash? We hung out by their beautiful pool, did a little swim up bar action, had some pizza... After that we went back to the room and watched a BUNCH of CNN cause they didn't have any other English channels. That was the worst thing about the hotel... Cnn sucks for 7 hours straight!! haha After that we ... read more
Well, Ash is almost done here... She comes home on Monday... So we needed to get our tiger stuff out of the way, obviously... I know she already got her pic taken with one tiger on Samui, but today we went to a whole TEMPLE FULL of them! It was awesome! We paid 600 baht to go from Khao San Road to the Floating market where we took a high speed longtail boat around, then we stopped for lunch at this roadside cafe thingy (where I proceeded to only eat sweet and sour chicken and rice cause it was included in our 600b) then we went to the bridge over the river Kwai and the war museum, then from there we went to the tiger temple. We had to be on Khao san at 7am this ... read more
Wow... WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW You can't even understand the monstrosity that they call a mall here... This isn't just any mall... This is the mall of all malls... I'm actually in MBK right now, but Siam Square is right next door... I saw a walkway to get to it on one of the other floors... so we'll go take a rook... It's so huge and massive that finding things is just utterly impossible.... I had to text Zmud and ask him if he had any idea as to how we were to tackle this thing... It's floors upon floors upon floors of ... stuff... purses, shoes, wallets, clothes, accessories... just so many things that I don't even know where to start looking.... although ash and I have now bought something, so hopefully we've started ... read more
Well.... Where to start where to start... It was so much fun. We got there around midnight and got a bucket. Danced... Danced our little hearts out... It's really a big blurr to be honest wiht you... I've got a few pics. We met some really good people... and then all of a sudden it was the next day... I really don't know how else to explain it. It's an experience that needs to be experienced and words just won't cut it. Here's some pics.... read more
Well, it's that time... It's the party... It's tonight... Just wanted to say hello real quick and let y'all know that you may or may not be getting random drunken texts tonight... so expect em. lol I'm gonna see if I can upload a couple pics here... nothing too interesting... we went partying on Haad Rin the other night and I had a bucket too many... wasn't feelin so hot the next day. BRUTAL! Didn't get out of bed till 2pm. haha Ok... Love y'all.... Talk to you soon!... read more
Yo Yo Yo Just a quickie here to tell y'all bout what we've been doin... We're currently on Koh Samui staying at a place on Lamai Beach called Mira Mare. It's fairly nice. We opted for A/C and hot water cause those cold shower mornings are starting to get old. We're paying 800b / night... so it's really not too bad. We leave for koh Phangan tomorrow morning and we already made a reservation with A/C and hot water as well. We figure that it's gonna be a long week, so we might as well be comfortable. Yesterday we actually did some fun stuff. We started the day by dropping off our laundry... Lemme tell ya how nice it is to have clean clothes round here!! Then we hopped in a taxi over to the zoo. ... read more
