Well what started out as a quick trip to Sydney to take a few photos for a friend turned out to be an adventurous day. Ready to test out my new camera backpack also, I loaded all my camera gear and a few other things, to get a feel for the bag for when I'm away. Arrived in Sydney a little bit after lunchtime and walked around the Rocks for a few minutes trying to meet up with our friends Jimmy and Emma. Once we finally met up we headed up the stairs towards the Harbour Bridge, and slowly strolled along the walkway on the bridge. Good view of the harbour from up there and took a few photos of the Opera House. Also because it was such a nice day we saw a few weddings ... read more

It was a long weekend, had just gotten a new camera, so what better reason to drive out to the Japanese Gardens in Cowra. It was only a 2 hour drive from home, so off me and Ruby headed at 8am. Previously I had never heard of these gardens and thought there was nothing in Cowra, turns out that the gardens are the largest Japanese Gardens in the Southern Hemisphere. Although the start of the day was a bit gloomy and was raining slightly, by the time we got there the rain was just stopping and it turned out to be quite a nice day. Spent a few hours slowly walking around the Gardens, taking photos here and there, testing out some of the different functions of the camera. It was very nice and peaceful there. ... read more

Over the past few weeks I have been planning my budget with what I want to take, and how much it will cost etc. As I am going for a photo expedition a new camera was in my budget. And with JB having a sale I thought now was as good as time as any to get it. So its a few models up from current one, also has video taking ability which is pretty good. Also at the same time I got a new mini laptop which will help sorting photos and writing my travel blog while I am away. In the same week I bought an 80L hiking pack, which is all the luggage etc I will need for my travels, and a bag to put that in for airports etc. So far all ... read more

Well I have changed my mind about 6 times already since I had first started planning my trip. So I thought I might as well post my latest thoughts on here, so I (or anybody else) can look back on it and see my planning aswell. So I have decided to skip most of Europe. It seems a bit to expensive to travel around for the amount of time I will be there. Maybe on another trip I could spend longer there, traveling around, working, and stuff like that. But this time I am skipping it, I will still go to Paris, but from London instead. And now I have decided to head up to Scotland from London also. Also because I'm not going to Europe it gives me a few extra miles, so I've swapped ... read more

Well I'm sitting here in my room reading some travel blogs, glancing through brochures and surfing tourism websites. I'm not thinking of leaving until late September 2010, but I thought I would try my hand at a bit of blogging, and record the whole journey, from preparation of my trip around the world, right until I land back in the country. I don't know what inspired my sudden desire to travel, as those that know me know that I was never one that wanted to travel. Maybe it was the fact that the photographer in me wanted to go out and do more landscapes other than just around my area. So it seems my eyes have been opened and I do want to see some of the world, so doing a whole lot of places in ... read more
