Gorgeous Chloe
Hi gorgeous! Who is that 'mystery man from home' that you are going to marry???? Can't wait to discover his identity!!! Seriously, I am glad you had so much fun. Your hair looks gorgeous, despite a weird way of having it done! Did you know we have had a major storm go thru Perth? We had minor damage at home but Chris and Mike were evacuated from their apartment as Jacob's Ladder collapsed! (well part of it did). They spent the night at our place - a much more comfortable alternative to the floor of the Convention Centre. Mia's car was badly damaged by hail and their pool, which Jarrad had spent hours on and was looking sparkling, is black now - full of sand and soil! Still, at least we are all safe. As of 5pm last night, dad had not had a drop of rain. I am hoping it might have come overnight for him. I better go and do some school work now. I love you my darling. Mum.

tree house
yay chloe it is so like a tree house! i love it, its fantastic. i am up early today as there is a bobcat leveling our front yard. you won't recognise it when you get home. we are supposed to have a new pagola up within a month too and the pool is now finally a proper shade of blue! Jarrad should be very proud of himself as i have done nothing to help any of these improvements!! Vegemite is lying by me bcause he's not quite sure about the bobcat. jarrad says he sould be outside supervising, but i told him its ok to stay inside with auntie. love you sissy, hope to speak to you again soon xxx

HI SISSY we got your postcard in the mail today. it was doubly exciting as it is the first piece of mail i have received at Kallaroo. thank you so much for sending it, it thrilled me to bits. the content only made me feel sorry for you though, sorry for you and zip lock bags...but glad they are made with such strength and non-leaky material!! sounds like you found a "red shoe" story of your own. Vegemite is a happy boy, he played with the boys in the back yard today while they were working on the boat. then he got their bones from the steak they BBQ'd. im off to bed now, lov eyou tonnes, goodnight xxx

Hello my beautiful Chloe, I was very horrified to read your post about the break in. That must have been a very frightening experience for all of you. I'm so glad that you are ok and were not hurt and even though it's hard not be angry and disappointed that some of your things were taken...it could have been much worse. After such a humbling and sobering experience at the killing fields it would have been the last thing you wanted to deal with. But what doesn't break you will only make you stronger. My weekend was very very different to yours...I took my cousin out for lunch on Saturday as she has just moved to Perth to start uni and is very homesick and struggling to settle so I think she was very glad to see a familiar and friendly face. School Mass on Sat night and then back to Perth for my friend Cassie's hen's night (thus the party dress and dancing shoes) for a fun filled night at none other than Collar and Cuffs :-) The next day I went to my friend Leesa's baby's christening, which was lovely and baby Bree is soooo tiny. When I got back Lisa and I relaxed at Karen and Jon's in the spa with amazing JKL leftovers. I have also made an official decision to come in July...yay!!! Anyway I really hope your last week finishes up much better than it has begun..lots of love xxxx Carrie

Shock!!!
Hi Chloe, I got such a shock when I read your email. I had just responded to the one about the Killing Fields and was going through them chronologically.....thanks God it was only possessions taken. Did you say you lost the backpack too? It wasn't dropped as he ran off? In shock, I didn't take it all in... I will re read the earlier email after I send this to you. I guess that people know westerners are staying at the school and that makes you a target. What a shame the police were so rough! I am glad you have moved beds and will lock up from now on. If you get this before you phone, I will be at French class until about 9pm but dad will be home if you miss me. I wonder was the guy taken with your blonde hair and beauty and was looking at you? Thank God you woke up and disturbed him!!! Hopefully will speak tonight. I love you Chloe and thank God you are safe. All my love, Mum.

Hi Chloe, What does one say to such horror? How is it that man can do such things to other human beings, especially to innocent children? I despair when I am reminded of such things. Thank goodness you have such lovely friends to life your spirits. The fact that you guys are there is evidence of the other side of the coin.... that there are human beings alive in the world and doing good in it. You can be proud that you have taken time out of a hedonistic world to give something back. All my love, Mum. By the way, a guy at my school wants to know what the organisation is that the two other girls who are working at your school (or have they left?) used? I will give him the one you used as well. He is keen to do some voluntary work in one of his holidays.

I did the same thing in Germany walking through the concentration camps by myself... creepy! My weekend was good, had a fundraiser lunch on saturday... that went until 5am sunday morning... needless to say sunday I was a mess. Thank god for KFC and DVD's. Anyhoo, flynn and i have broken up after 4 years. He has moved to adelaide, but we still in contact and hope to get back together one day... will see. Next time you have some free time, go do something fun and light hearted.... it takes ages to get over those memories... the world is so crazy and wrong sometimes. I find myself wondering all the time "what is wrong with people" when you read horrific things. I dont get it. Kirst.

Oh dear!
Hello Chloe what an awful thing to happen to you. I'm so sorry to hear about this. It just makes me feel sick to think that you have gone there to help out and someone can take advantage of you like this. There are scumbags like this all over the world Chloe and as you say it was only your stuff that was taken. He could have raped you or killed you hadyou been in Africa!! How was he able to get into your accomodation so easily. Can't you lock your doors? I hope the police are able to help you. Are all your passsports still safe? Poor baby. You are being very brave but realize now that you are vulnerable to unscrupulous people with no morals. Take care of yourself and try not to let this horrible incident spoil your travels. Much love Carolxxx

Hi Chloe, it is good to know you are well. It sounds as though you had a harrowing w'end but it is good to see these places if only to learn from them, so the horror won't happen again!! yesterday Tony and Daniel got bricks from a salvage yard to complete his brick paving and we visited Pat, as we had trees lopped at Kingsley. This morning we wrnt to Cottesloe beach to see the beach sculptures and enjoyed walking around looking at them and the people,( the people were much more interesting!!!) Paul is extremely busy and has a hectic few weeks ahead as he completes more training. He's not sure yet if he will be off work for Easter at the farm, but he's hoping to come. Take care, Love, Marian

Bliss
Hi Chloe, it looks like bliss out there on your bike. No doubt the heat makes it a bit less blissful but how wonderful it must be to be experiencing all these adventures from 'within' so to speak! Continue to enjoy every moment and to experience all that is offered. I love you. Am off to mass, so must rush. Love again, Mum.

Swimming carnival
Hi Chloe, you seem to do an awful lot of socialising and have a lot of holidays.... I think the volunteer lark sounds great to me! We had our swimming carnival today and we Di and I were the teachers for Gold faction. As I have nothing yello, I raided your wardrobe and found a lovely cool yellow dress. As it was 37 today, it was perfect. By the way Gold won! I cannot imagine doing so much exercise when it is so hot. I imagine the venues were not airconditioned??? You must be wasting away???? I am glad the money is safely in your bank account. Are you finding you are spending more than you imagined you would on a weekly basis, or not? It is week 6 for us and I can't believe it. It is only a 9 week term and Di and I discovered yesterday that we have to present assembly next week!!! Can't believe one of us didn't pick that up earlier. Initially it was panic stations, but then we got it sorted. Virginia is a darling, and she is going to demonstrate what they have been learning in dance class and we will do some Aboriginal Dreamtime stories and sing the Aboriginal Our father, as well as a few other things. Di will actually be in Bali next week, as of Wednesday evening, but the kids will rise to the occasion I am sure. I agree with your comment about kids all over the world being similar in so many ways. I must go now, as I have to organise my merit award for tomorrow and do some shopping on the way home. I hope your 'girls night' goes well. Sounds like fun! All my love, Mum
