Bahrain Out of all my travelblog entries the Bahraini experience is so far my only business trip, therefore it couldn’t be as fun and enjoyable as my holidays’ travelling. Nevertheless I feel impelled to write some notes about this distinctive Kingdom. If you are travelling to the Middle East during the summer months except the worst in terms of heat. The first thing you will notice upon your arrival is the hot/humid weather combination! I honestly thought that coming from a hot and humid country myself, I would not suffer too much under temperatures of 45 degrees Celsius, but it was much worse than what I expected. On my first day, temperatures reached 52 degrees Celsius which is something that I never thought would be possible. It was humanly impossible for me to stay outside an ... read more

Well, where shall I start from?!?! Prague was one of the cities that I longed wished to visit. Then, my dear husband decided to take me there to celebrate my 30th birthday. What a present... a romantic weekend in Prague! It was the most amazing present I could ever dream off. Prague itself is beautiful; and I am highly temped to say that it is even more special than Paris…. The surroundings are just fantastic. Everywhere you look, there is a stunning piece of architecture! Not to mention the various cosy and outstanding restaurants and coffee places. Everything so well maintained and clean. People are very polite and helpful! Prices are reasonable although I thought it would be way cheaper. We stayed close to the Old Town, and I do recommend that you invest a bit ... read more

Last weekend Erik and I went to Milan to visit our Italian friends. We had always been told that Milan was nothing really special and we would be better off going to Venice, Pisa, Florence, Rome…. What a bad advice! The only good thing about this bad advice was that we haven’t created expectations, and once we got there…. Milan pretty much exceeded all expectations! Despite all the rain, we had a wonderful weekend with our dearest friends and enjoyed a bit of good food, beautiful sightseeing and of course, excellent shopping trips! The least we can say about Milan is that it is glam! To my surprise, Milan is quite different than any other Italian city. Sorry if I will upset others, but Milan is a country apart! Very polite people and service, efficient public ... read more

Our weekend in Budapest was brilliant. Not knowing much about the place, I had a very good first time impression, which exceed my expectations. We stayed in Istvan and Rika’s place, in Buda, however we spend most of our time in Pest. I learnt that Budapest is a city formed by the union of 2 cities (Buda and Pest). The famous Chain Bridge links both sides of the Danube River. Once upon a time, Budapest was a very important city but events like the World War I damaged Budapest development, culminating with a massive territory loss. After the World War II, the Russians took Budapest territory and under Communist rules its popularity decreased loads. It is clear to see that some important buildings such as the parliament were once created to accommodate a much more powerful ... read more

As always our summer holidays in Croatia were just amazing. Having invited Karina and Ricardo just made it even nicer. We spent 12 days sunbathing, trekking, playing tennis and cards, swimming, driving boats and eating…. preferably at home, as Korcula lacks good restaurants and Ricardo is a marvellous chef. We celebrated Karina and Erik's b'day over there! We visited many islands around Korcula but didn’t manage to visit Mljet Ecological Park as planned. Prices have increased dramatically in the last couple of years, so we had to reduce some of our activities. Nevertheless we managed to enjoy every single minute and plan to go back there for many summers to come… ... read more

Finally my dearest friends from Brazil arrived! It was like a dream to have them here with me. As it was Ana's first time in London, we had to do all the tourist stuff but it wasn't painful at all, as I love London to bits. We had the chance to cheer for Brazil in the world cup together, as well as to have some of Laurita's delicious feijoada. Everything was great and we enjoyed every minute together. I just hope that this is not the first and last time they come to visit. Love you guys! ... read more

Since a long time ago I was planning to go to Morro de São Paulo. The opportunity came and me and my brother Bruno enjoyed 2 days of good weather, nice beaches, food and people. We stayed on the second beach at Villa das Pedras pousada. I experienced one of the most beautiful sunsets of my life from The Toca Louca. The vibe was amazing. Morro is a very special place. A bit expensive though, as it is now full of "gringos". ... read more
