I love this photo I'm fascinated by all the wonderful photos taken of bicycles. I've posted this one in the Bicycles- art or transportation forum. Great shot!
Sorry to hear you were not impressed with Lake Garda... one of our favorite towns in Europe is Sirmione, on the peninsula that juts into Lake Garda from the southern shore. The peninsula is cut off by a moat with a castle with a quaint car restricted town behind the castle wall. At the end of the peninsula is a Roman palace with views north across the lake to the Alps...breathtaking! Maybe you can visit some other time. As for Verona, you can relive your visit by watching "Letters to Juliet"...a great chick flick.
wow! Hey you two! wow I am just amazed at the things you have done and places you have been, you certainly don't lack a sense of adventure. I thought we had been brave in our travels but you two have given us some great inspiration. Next week we are off to the UK in the "van". Our son gets married on the 19th near Bristol so we'll be back in the UK for a month or so. Keep in touch , we may even be around when you get back, that's if you decide to go back!! Take care xx

Holidays on the Istrian coast You seem to be following in your Nana & Granbob's footsteps. They stayed in that area pre revolution and also after and loved it. Good to hear that you like it as well. We may give it a try!
More Vino!! Hi Guys,
Great to get the next blog and hear all is going well. You are certainly doing well on keeping your schedule. These places mentioned sound so beautiful. Chris has just today flown to Portugal, she returns on Thursday with our two eldest grand daughters. Next Monday we plan to take them in the van down to the coast to stay for a few days before the rest of the family join us for a few weks in August. Had to do some unexpected repairs to the van after finding a load of damp and rotten flooring under the dinette area. I repaired all the floor but there still seem to be some water getting in a joint up on the roof where it has obviously been coming in for some time. Hope to finish it tomorrow.
Keep safe and enjoy the moments!

aire How do you find these "aire"s ? I am considering renting a camper and traveling around Europe a bit myself. I have traveled around the US camping and Europe using hostels but this is the first I have heard of an "aire".
"We broke our journey south by stopping for the night on an aire, situated 902 metres above sea level on an observatory"
Aires Hi, you can buy books on line called 'All The Aires', there's one for France, one for Spain/Portugal and also one for Northern Europe mountains I think. In France there are loads and loads to choose from but some European countries are not campervan friendly!
