Travelling for Sandy's Guestbook

27th December 2010

ouch!!!!
sounds like a living nightmare. My sympathies to Michael and Rueben - not how the boys should have to spend Boxing Day even in pursuit of research into strange cultural habits especially those emanating from the land of the free or whatever they call it! Hope your next foray into a mall is more successful but as you know I try to avoid such places. Keep up the blogs! They are great. Lov to all.

Shopping
Hi JB - glad you had a nice Christmas day in OZ with Darrens family. Mum and Dad and Craig and Stef called last night so that is why the phone was engaged. No I have not finished the shopping. Not really started yet. Most of the time we are looking at kids toys and clothes. Hoping to get some solo shopping time soon to have a good look around!

Catchup
Just caught up on Christmas Eve / Day events and can understand your comments - it would have been something different but not the same as being at home with family and friends however it is a great experience for the kids. Sorry we missed you today - yours was engaged and we were on mobile in the car so will possibly limit contact to blogs until we get home. Mum has updated you on our last 2 days - all very good and with nice folks. Have enjoyed your daily updates, video and pics. Keep enjoying your time away and by the looks of thing R and C certainly are. Loadsaluv Dad

Missing you at Christmas!!!
Hi Guys, sorry my Christmas message didn't seem to reach you. You look as if you all had a fun day.We had a great day with all the J family in Ballarat. It was a real Christmas feast and present opening with Grandpa J all dressed up as Santa for the present exchange after lunch. We met them all only yesterday and feel like old friends. We all stayed overnight at Darren's sister's home (150 YR OLD FARM HOUSE SET ON 8 ACRES).They were great hosts. We are now back at Darren's home after a very nice Christmas with lovely welcoming folk. Glad that you don't want to make a habit of an Overseas Christmas!!!!but it will be one the kids will never forget. They are having such a fun time. You look as though you all are. Tried to ring a couple of times today around midday but engaged both times. Lots of love to you all and continue to have a fabulous time. ( Sandy how is the shopping going???Are you close to done yet????!!!!!!!)

We got to Celebration
Hi Richard - the I4 does all look the same.....we got to Celebration which was not too far down thr track....a better map would help!!
24th December 2010

Heading to Tampa
Snap, I did the same. One problem with the I4, it looks the same reagardless of the direction you're heading. Plus, it can be a damn long way before you get to an off-ramp if you stuff it up. Did you get as far as Championsgate? or further?

Smaller Bums
Hi Wilma - yep your bum would be tiny by the end of the week with two pair on!! (don't we wish)

So if I wore 2 pairs of those sneakers at once, my bum would get smaller even quicker??? That's how it works right :-)

Great day!!!!
This trip is getting more exciting by the day! What an experience for you all and we are so pleased you are taking this opportunity to see so much. Yes -Michael it will be a good introduction to Hwange and points north so keep[ planning for the next big adventure/s. The photos are great and the kids faces always seem to be big wide smiles so clearly they are enjoying the experience. Plus opf course Sandy you are getting plenty of chances to 'flex the plastic' so looks like everybody is having a good time. We are now in Melbourne and sitting out on the patio drinking our 3rd cup of coffee - really chilled! Loads of love.

Hi Wilma - I am missing the walks as well. I have brought some new walking shoes that tone as you go!! Means your bum gets smaller quicker! Looks like I will be in Sydney for three days the week after we are back so you may need to wait a little longer!!

COOLLLL
Ian said so has she done all the malls now - I said I don't think so!!! Just having a rehab day!!! Your day looked great fun - how amazing. It is 11.30pm here so will show the girls the photos in the morning - they will love them!!! Love the Christmas Tree and yes it does need to come home!!! Grandma will love it!!! Finished work today THANK GOODNESS!! and shopping almost done - Just Ians present to get now!!!

Walmart
Not sure which one you went to, but there is one quite close to you off the I4. You go north on the I4 and get off at West Sand Lake Road, turn left down W Sand Lake, then left onto Turkey Lake Road. Walmart is about a mile or so down that road. Good place to get groceries. I really like Turkey Lake Road, mainly because of the name, but also because it becomes Palm Parkway and means you can get up and down that stretch of the I4 (cause it runs parallel to it) without much traffic or hassle.

gators gators everywhere!
More gators than you can shake a stick at eh! Looks like a great day had by all. When the kids look at them I guess they see living dinosaurs but when Sandy views gators all she sees is nice shoes and belt! No day would be perfect with the obligatory shop by the looks of it. Only 3 days til the big 25th When Santa heads down the chimney or air duct with prezzies a plenty. Hopefully the kids can muster a bit more excitement for the day as it looks like they may have had enough to last them a life time. Great photos guys keep em coming! Mike you definitely have a career with the world press when you want it. Take care and love to all. The Swampys.

Looks like you had a great day - going later in the day certainly sounds like a good move! You've got me all keen to head to Orlando now! Cheers, Wilma

Lake Cypress looked like a nice change from Theme Parks and shopping :-) Glad to read that you aren't bringing that Christmas Tree home - it would take up at least room that could fit 4 pairs of shoes (you've gotta have priorities right???) Sandy - I have managed a couple of evening walks (but it's hot work!) and trying to pysch myself up for a 6am walk tomorrow morning. I need my walking buddy back - or the season to be jolly will be hanging off my hips! Keep up the blogging guys - fab to read! Cheers from a very humid Auckland! Wilma

Loved the one about the Crocs (that's animals, not shoes Sandy!) that sounded awesome ! Hope you guys have a fantastic Christmas, we'll be thinking of you sitting around your fibre optic - LOL The Harries X
