Travelling for Sandy's Guestbook

Space(d) out
Started to do this then lost it! any way here goes again. Sounds like a great day out and plenty to do and see. Love the humourous comments about peanuts, admission fees, and hair straighteners and please keep the pics of the kids, family and sights coming ( sorry to the 'shoppers' but we don't want shopping malls as sights of interest - see one you've seen em all!). From the pics it is evident that Reuben and Caitlin are having a ball - the lad's face and smile tell it all. We are bow at Stefan's apartment - and he does have wi-fi so we can keep up with the daily blog. Mum's turn to go shopping this week as we will have a couple of days to go in to the city and (browse) (shop) - take your pick. Loads of luv to you all.

New Year
Best wishes for the new year. Today went to Zahra's first birthday party- she loved ripping open her parcels - we gave her a small couch. It is was a happy occasion. The kids were tired by the time the show was over. Daniel had taken his pillow and fallen asleep on the flour. Zahra was in bed around 6.30 pm.

Happy New Year
just to say a very happy new year to you all! As for the little camper - she obviously needed more sleep! A princess needs her beauty sleep! Hope they didn't give Reuben a buzz cut! Happy new year to you all! Karen, Damian and Sprat!!

Sleepy girl!!!!!
Firstly - HAPPY NEW YEAR to you each. Clearly the frenetic pace of travel and all the excitement of new experiences has caught up on Caitlin - anyway it still sounds as if you took the chance to have a slightly 'quieter' day even if it was in a shopping mall. Mum has added a comment so no doubt updated you on events here. Had a good NYE with the team here last evening. Caught the end of the Sydney H/bridge fireworks display - looks spectascular as always. We are heading in to Stefan's apartment tomorrow (Sunday) for a few days so not certain if he has wi-fi there so may be 'offline' until we get home on Thursday. Anyway continue enjoying your trip. Loadsaluv to all.

Happy New Year Family
Well here we are another decade gone- where did that go to?? We welcomed it in quietly after a scorcher of a day in the 30's. You obviously had a quiet one.The kids have done well haven' they?. Darn shame that you had to to the shops again Sandy!!!! You must be feeling very chilled after all the retail "therapy".Shame you haven't got a shopping buddy with you who would really appreciate and get excited about how many bargains you have purchased and the savings made on the clothing and footwear budget in the process!!!! We are going into Melbourne tomorrow and will stay there now until we leave early Thursday morning. We have had a nice time here-a lovely spot.Birdlife and bush is amazing. Well no news really just wanted to wish you 4 a very "Happy New Year" with health and happiness thrown in!! Loads of love to you all .

Food glorious food!!!!
Looks like Reuben has an affinity for shrimps - will fit in quite nicely if he ever visits the UK and chooses 'Scampi and chips' - MY FAVOURITE PUB/CAFE food - so go for it Reuben! Recall doing something like your trip in LA and getting lost off the freeway one night and ending up somewhere not designated for 'white folks'. Sounds however that despite the 'sightseeing' you did have a good day out but sorry it included more shopping. Looks as if Caitlin has caught the shopping bug...... she will wanting her own AMEX card now! All good here - looks like 40 deg here today in Melbourne for New Years Eve. We went out for brunch with Stefan and Darren this morning and they have friends around tonite for a BBQ. Anyway Happy New Year to you all and loadsa luv too. Well just off now to jump in the swimming pool - will spare you a thought or two!!!!!

Downey vs Disney
Hello just spent 20 minutes typing a newsy message and pushed the wrong button. Suspect my message is somewhere in cyberspace so here goes again. Yesterday was almost exactely the same as yours with a couple of differences. started the day with a magical drive on the Auckland Motorway to Ponsonby. Ponsonby is a magical kingdom similar to Disney complete with queens and Kings galour...OK Queens anyway. Met Ken and Julene for Brunch and then headed into the magical kingdom which is Smith and Caugheys window display. WOW Cinderella puppet style it was fantastic. Then we headed off on an overseas adventure passing through Asia on the way Well we wlaked down Queen street to the ferry terminal. Not complete with passing thru Asia we sampled some of their food on the way. Sushi at Downtown for lunch. We the boarded a harbour cruise to...wait for it...Devenport. Had coffe and then back on the boat bound for Auckland. Half way across a voice rang out Orca Orca Orca....Nah not really but maybe one day. So we headed off to Goode Bros for tea via the Oldies home at Edgewater to see Ron and Renie. After the meal we went to the Movies at Theatro Kitto to watch inception. All in all a great day. Ok I am just a lttle jealous of your day all except the news that Mike only has one pair of shoes at home..I had a small tear in my eye at that point. Sandy stop turning your Son into a shopper leave in his usual indecision. Sounds like a good time had by all in Orlando. Ok hope this finds you all well. keep having fun. We miss you guys and look forwrd to another installment tonight. Take care. Craig and Steph

Good effort
on the shopping front! and the light display looks pretty good as well!!!!
30th December 2010

14 pairs of shoes - I love it! Will you need a convoy of cars to get to the airport??? Those lights look impressive! Does this mean you will get the bug to light up your place next year? :-)
30th December 2010

Who pays the power bill!!!?????
Sounds like another great day. Sorry Reuben but you don't get thy shopping bug from your Dad or me. Hope you aren't going to bring your US$'s home - spend and enjoy! Looks as if Caitlin too is a good shopper - shoes or handbags? There must be a preference. Looks too as if Sandy is in her element - sort of reminds me of that thing about saving you money Michael by getting things in a sale - or have I misinterpreted something I heard? All well here in Melbourne - England retained the Ashes at the MCG by an innings and 157 runs. Local papers giving Ponting and Aussie team a real hard time after they convincingly beat England at Perth to be 1 each plus a draw but the Brits had them all out for 98 on day 1 then set a tough 1st innings target to chase. NZ doing well in 20/20 against Pakistan. Anyway I digress - keep up the blogs - we are enjoying them. Loads of luv to you all.

Only one handbag
come on what is wrong with you - after a day in a wildlife park you should have been up to a better shopping effort than just one handbag!!!
29th December 2010

Shopping
Thanks for the bill Mike, If i'd known I was going to be invoiced I would have recommended Festival Bay Mall where 90% of the shops are closed (worst mall experience in Florida) Gotta love your directions, doesnt the I4 become the only way you can get anywhere in Orlando? Amazing blogging too. R-E-S-P-E-C-T! You will have a great keepsake of your travels, you might need to take up a new role as a travel writer!
29th December 2010

Hi sounds like a great day with something for everyone. Keep up the shopping Sandy leave no mall unseen!
29th December 2010

What about that handbag??
Hi Guys,Sounds like a fabulous "wildlife"day. It looks like an amazing place. Michael I really can't believe that you fell for that line with regard to the shopping mall "we could stop there for a meal on the way home and just take in the ambience">Whatever!! It was a mall -it has shops and it is where the beautiful people go to shop. Well done Sandy it worked and you scored a handbag. Michael you were lucky it could have been shoes and outfit to match the bag as well. Seriously, you sound like you are having a ball.Pleased for you. Love to you all!!!! Hi Poppa / Dad adding a bit to Mum's note above. Sounds like a great experience to see thye Manattees so up close. What an amazingly special experience for you and for the kids. You are certainly having a great time and I suspect old NZ will seem a little 'small and uneventful' after these experiences. Still loving the 'word-smithing' Michael (if there is such a word?). This is a great record of a family holiday and the pics are especially great - see Reuben's teeth are starting to come through as he seems to be smiling in most of the pics! I loved your bits about Ranger Ron - these types seem to pop up everywhere - give a man a uniform etc......... Any way keep on enjoying these great days out. The memories will be there for aqll time. Loads of love to you each.

Yep,I've been there -done it in London and NO I don't even have a Tshirt to prove it. However Marks and Spencers is a much more civilised affair and have had great success many times as you know but not on Boxing Day!!! Hope the weather warms up for you.It has not been that warm here but is due to climb tomorrow and looks good for the rest of the week. Boxing day sale
And you wondered where the phrase boxing day came from. It has nothing to do with boxing up the post Christmas leftovers and sending them to the poor as you might think....it has a lot more to do with the pugilistic sports. Sounds like Hell on earth or as we call it here in the antipodes...Sylvia park,Botany and St Lukes ...Yes it the same here just smaller and when I have a DVD voucher burning a hole in my pocket...well the rest is history. Hope you guys are having a warmer day by the time you read this. What is the long range forecast? Hopefully it is better than yesterday for you. OK take care and love to all. The Swampies xxxxx

Why oh Why
do we do this to ourselves - got to say that Albany resembled similar especially in the carpark - BUT I won the fight for my front door park - 4WD has its advantages. Man I wish I was there - pity you did not purchase anything but you had to experience it - why would you not - I went back to Albany for a second look and purchased three tops and a quilt for Lucy - anyway would rather be at Florida Mall with you -Sandy that is - with no kids no husbands and a endless supply of money and time!!! would have been fun!!! Shame you did not purchase anything!!!! Look forward to tomorrows up day - see ya!
