burnt norton - From: Burnt Norton
i have just recently read this after watching an incredibly moving portrait of ts elliotts life on arena. you were the first person to intoduce me to it through jeannette winterson, it feels so long ago and i have only just really understood what its all about. you seem to be going through a reflective period right now but in a positive way. memories shape us for everything we have not yet faced. love carolyn

changes need time to come true. - From: Guangzhou - The more I see, the less I know
" 'In China, no one queues, no one really helps anyone else, no one gives their seat up on crowded buses or metros for the elderly or pregnant ---------------------------------------------- ' In some places, it's true. In some places, it is not true. Usually in big cities, it seems better. I think, in generally, this is dependent on the education. However, it is impossible for China to give everyone high education now. Just step by step. Enjoy China! " That's what I want to say.

Hi Tracey and Chris Just to let you know that I'm really enjoying the blog and that today, which was rather hectic, it actually made me stop and smile and breathe properly. I'm printing and posting them to your mum and dad Tracey - so they can keep up to date with your wanderings. I'm covered in midgy bites from a long walk last Sunday through the purple hills of Upper Derwent Valley and look like a plague victim but other than that, all is honkey dorey down here. Enjoy Lijiang. Can't wait for the next instalment. love you xxx Mir
