Beautiful colours What a great idea. A really mellow and beautiful piece, but mostly I love the idea of knitting the colours you see into your patterns. Perfect!
Linda's passion is crocheting... but hasn't got to the point where she can create her own designs. We look forward to seeing you finished product. Did you knit the cap you are wearing on the beach?
A little house on the hill Beautifully written as usual. Enjoy India. We love it in all its senses.
The Grey Haired Nomads - presently in Spain in the sun, watching the shadows.
Waldorf Astoria Pleasure Tracey, such pleasure you are experiencing. You have made Katie jealous by reminding her what a great time she had in Shanghai last year.
Enjoying reading your commentary and the photos are divine.
Looking forward to your return , perhaps we can speak.

You should have used your TB card... by promising to write a very favorable recommendation on TB you might have got the brunch free! Anyway, it sounded wonderful and I will try out the W-A the next time in Shanghai.
The emperors of China made a big deal of the art of calligraphy... When visiting the Forbidden City in March I came across in a quiet corner where the nephew of the Last Emperor was performing this art...which was for sale with proceeds going to the school.
empty sharon, this is at 7am!!! honestly, it's a mess. you can't see for tourists - and they are not Lao Wai. I took a photo for you too. I didn't know you looked - I'll add it, it'll make you laugh
Thanks for the ending! It all sounded so noisy, dirty, crowded, and chaotic, I wondered why you'd returned. The last sentence said it all. Often when things seem most disadvantaged from our eyes is when the people are the most generous and kind. When you have little, sharing becomes a way of life. Nice blog!
reading to the end you have to get to the end to understand. there are parts of every city like this and parts that are calm and contemplative. And yes, I am here to spend time with some very special people.
I was going to say "Welcome Home" but the further I read it sounded like you regretted going back. Fortunately, you ended the blog telling us about the kindness of the people in the midst of all this madness. So welcome home!
