The lingering stench One year after your article, I came to my hometown from Chennai. I doubt the stench of Koovam river that runs through the city and other garbage water lines still lingers in my nose or in my mind. When I read recently the first book of VS Naipal on India I got angried on him. But later sadly I know that what he wrote is right. That got me more angrier. Chennai is one of the filthiest cities in India, it makes one wonder whether the filthing is deliberate!
Ho! Ho! Ho! I've just read you blog on your Vietnam trip and it sounds AMAZING. I am hoping to go there for a month over xmas and New Year. Two of my friends are on a round the world trip and I am flying out to meet them for New Year. As I only have a month would you recommend going to Laos as I am struggling to fit everything in? Thanks and nice blog.

http://www.indiaroutemap.com Hope you had a chance to enjoy the Pushkar fair, which is a famous tourist attraction in pushkar like the Kite festival that you have mentioned. It mainly has villagers coming down to sell their valuables including cattle, jewelery and it also includes camel caravan and elephant caravan too. Its fun being at the Pushkar fair.
