Staying within the lines
They have to keep an eye on you and make sure you are standing where you need to be. Sounds like you've discovered some great museums and markets.

Good to see you blogging again
There are times when our work interferes with our travels also. Glad you enjoyed Hong Kong again... sometimes when we return to a location we loved it is hard to release the memory and embrace the changes. Everyone seems to love Hong Kong.

Next October
We are going to Seychelles next October and would welcome an email with specifics about which islands to see and how many days to spend on each one. It has been on the bucket list since the 80's....time to go. MJ

Seychelles
Hey MJ. The main island is Mahe and there are beautiful beaches including the north. You can take a high speed ferry to Praslin which is breathtaking, and then an hour further to La Digue. This just happens to be the most beautiful island I've seen in my life. Enjoy!

Camera
Just wondering what type of camera you use? Is it possible to give me the make and model? How many megapixels does it and and what is the optical zoom on it? Your pictures are really nice and I need to buy a camera.

Camera
Hi, I use a Canon EOS600 DSLR mainly with an 18-55mm lens, but I also carry a telephoto lens. It's an 8 megapixel camera.

Tourist growth in the country
Sounds like they are heading in the right direction. Sounds like this leg of the trip fell into place. The war museum looks good. I'm glad Belarus was a pleasant surprise for you.

Belarus
I want to visit the country next summer as well and hope that I don't need a visa, if I enter from Warsaw coming by train. Thomas

8 million of your closest friends
You always make us smile. Nice intro. Dave and I share your love of the changing environment, the stimulation created and our adaptability to the new situation we find ourselves in. We love the similarities and contrast. Looks like you saw a good smattering of towns, cities, churches -- new and old. Glad they have an infrastructure that can assist world wanderers. Happy travels.

Travel adventures drive personal growth
A sheltered life? not. You were on a mission and didn't give up. Glad you experienced both cities and beaches ... even if they are crowded. I can picture you jumping up and down. MJ

Experiencing the Ukraine
Once you've maneuvered in the metro and gone to a couple of museums you begin to understand a country. Sounds like you had a great tour. Thanks for sharing. MJ

Unraveling the mysteries of Mother Russia
Sounds like you took the time to delve deeper into Moscow. Yes, it seems there would be plenty to see and experience. I'm sure the army games were interesting. MJ

I see the resemblance.
O.K. so maybe you don't look like Brad Pitt. Great travel adventures - I love travelling in non-tourist friendly regions - definitely more of a challenge though. Also, I'm not sure you've had a sheltered life judging by the places you've visited... Great blogs - I'm a big fan of the old Soviet Republics. Dave

The largest city on the continent
Lucky they helped you book another accommodation. Great photos. Glad the rains cleared so you could have the perfect day. Great stuff. I was shocked at the metro station... really nice. Keep the info coming.

Moscow Metro
Great blog Tom! The Moscow Metro indeed is one of the most stunning in the world. St Petersburg's is pretty impressive too. I'm glad you arrived at Domodedovo and not Sheremetyevo. It may have changed when I was there in 2001, but the latter was not a great welcome to the city! Enjoy your time there :)

Another wonderful blog! A few questions though: what were the names of the hostels you stayed at in Paris and Moscow? Also, your pictures are very very clear. Do you mind giving me some details about the camera you are using? Thanks. Sam
