thank you Dear Scott and Shauna,
I'm a friend of Dana's and we've met at her house... the day you guys were putting up the kids new trampoline. I wanted to say thank you so much for blogging your time in South Africa. It's been amazing to see and read about your many adventures and lessons. You have impacted me a number of times from so far away with your words. More than once you've posted a new update that has directly related to where I was at that day and reminded me to be thankful for where I live and to pull my head out of my backside : ) You both have an amazing way with words and I am so grateful to have been able to share in your amazing time in South Africa in a very small way.
I hope you have a safe and uneventful trip back to Canada and that the weather lifts before you land : )

Hey!
I'm so excited that you'll be home soon but at the same time I'm so sad that your adventure is coming to a close! I've loved reading your stories, you guys are so inspirational! And I'm so proud to know two amazing people with such humongous hearts! I hope you enjoy these last few weeks to the fullest! Safe travels and
wow... Reading your stories touched me... and I live here! :) It also made me really sad thinking about what a hole is going to be left here when you guys return to Canada. We are excited for you guys and the future God has for you, and are so thankful that Seed of Hope got to have you for a "year of your life." :) Thank you for all you have done. You truly are an inspiration!
Hey! Thank you so much for the update!! I think about you guys a lot and wondered how you were doing as you start preparing to go back home...I know that'll be tough! That's so amazing that your dads got to come and visit! It's great that they got a little snapshot of what you experienced this year.
Thanks! I just finished reading through all of your entries...thanks so much for taking the time to share some of your experiences! I have been deeply blessed reading your blog. I pray that God would continue to work in and through you during the rest of your time.
Thank you Scott and Shauna. Thanks for your blog and update. We continue to pray with you and for you. I'm passing along this recent blog to the folks at The Gathering Place this weeknd, Aug 3. God bless you as you are stretched, grow in God and minister in S. Africa.
Praying.. Hey guys, we're still praying for you guys back home, and sad to read about the little boy being hit. He is also in our prayers. Keep on going, don't stop doing what you are doing...you are both amazing people with amazing hearts, and you are touching Africa, just like you Scott, touched that little boys heart.
Scott and Shauna... This entry was so upsetting and lovely at the same time. It is amazing to see hope in such despair. I am so grateful to be learning these lessons that you are learning first hand. It must be so emotional everyday for you both. I am so glad you have each other and that the people their have you. I will definitely pray for the little boy and the Wellington and the boys too.
Thanks for taking the time to write these things, Scott. I also couldn't help crying as I read. (And praying) How does all this happen .........?
What a great relief it was to hear from you, as we have heard of the bad things happening in South Africa. We have been praying for your safety, also. May God bless you continually.
Close to the heart Trying to get a sence of what you must have felt Scott.....even as I sit here in my home......How much we truly take for granted....I hope the little boy pulls through.....Once again thanks for letting me tag along.....
Scott, thanks once again for sharing with us. Again I cry as I read. I can not imagine how you felt, helplessly holding that little boy. We will pray. What you share is so hard for us to imagine in our priveledged life we have here at home. May God continue to bless the work you and Shauna are doing. We know you are valuable where you are and pray that you would see that as you look into the faces of those that have been blessed by you. xoxo Take Care, Wendy
We all miss you We are all so proud of the work you and Scott are doing and enjoy keeping up with your adventures. However, your patients and colleagues all miss you in Calgary and are looking forward to having you back at the end of the year.
GoGo's name Hi Scott and Shauna,
I happened to go over to the SOH with the Team from Caroline last year and I noticed that you may be wondering about GoGo's real name....it is Evelina B. Madotyeni and she really is something isn't she?. She will get a kick out of you knowing her name. My three weeks over there were great and I can't imagine the impact you are having being over for a year. Your work over there is a fantastic example of how we should treat others.
Bless both of you,
Scott and Jo-Ann Grimwood
Inspiring Yet again another unbelievable entry. You must feel so humble at times. Your stories are inspiring and heart breaking all at the same time. I am so glad that people like you two are in the world ready to get your hands dirty and help. I'm sure the gifts you are giving are as appreciated as the gifts you are receiving.
IF ONLY If only the whole world could stop....just stop for a moment....and know what you know and have learned about being there. The ancients knew....as the Mayans said and still say in greeting "In Lak'esh ALa K'in" - "I am you - you are me" - if only we as the people of this world treated each other with true belief in that.
Every little bit you do reverberates and touches us all.
Many blessings in what you're doing.
Thanks guys! You are really educating us. I was born in South America, and saw terrible poverty - but that all pales in comparison to what these people face: especially the children raising families. Thansk for writing from the heart. It is inspiring, as well as overwhelming. May God bless you richly as you pour out your love to them.
Wow! Scott and Shauna...
I love looking at your pictures and reading your blogs, something in my heart just leaps when I see the stuff you guys are doing! Way to go! I will constantly be praying for you both!
Talk to you soon,
Christa
Wow...what a reality check. I have found after having children I am so much more affected by other children ... as you say, kids are kids and mothers are still mothers everywhere. How very fortunate I am. Love to you guys and the people who's lives you are changing.
Thanks Thanks Scott for sharing this part of your life with us. Your words touch a part of my heart deep inside. Your words strike me as a double blessing, for the children's lives you are touching and for you both to be touched by these children. We pray that God will continue to us you as you serve Him in this very tangible way and that you will both be kept from harms way. Many blessings! xoxo
Your last blog entry Wow. Life and be simply beautiful if we just appreciate each other. It was good to be reminded of this in your entry.
Thanks Scott and you and Shuana take care.

Shauna and I spent 2008 in South Africa volunteering at "The Seed of Hope" - a humanitarian aid program in Bhekulwandle, SA. We met a lot of fantastic people, made some great friends, experienced an exciting culture, and saw a lot of the beautiful country. We wrote these Blogs partly to keep our family and friends informed, but mostly because it was a way to process, understand and record all that we experienced and learned. We learned a lot! We hope you do too.

thought of another lesson for you...
For some words, there is no translation. Only attitude can convey the meaning.
