Geo: 50.0878, 14.4205Hi all,We have arrived. Sorry for the delay. After a very long day of travel... one canceled flight and one delayed flight, two trains and a car (20+ hours of travel) we made it to Prague. Fighting time change and exhaustion we hit the town that night. We decided the best place to start was the oldest brewery in town, U Fleku. Great place, dark beer and goulash. Guys playing um-pa music and people singing. It was fabulous. We then hit El Gott another brewery. Smaller and not as nice. Stayed for one Budweiser (the real one) and then started our way back to the apartment. We stumbled upon a midevil themed restaurant and had to go in. Well, it was great. Good beer, mead and cool atmosphere.Sunday we hit the castle. This castle ... read more

Geo: 43.2447, -83.6682Trip Tidbits....Lisbon - Lodging: We booked a hotel for our stay in Lisbon. We stayed at the Residencial Alegria, located just off Avenida da Liberdade. We booked through a booking company online but they also have a website: www.alegrianet.com The room rate was 43€ a night for a double room including the typical European breakfast. The hotel has an elevator and small bar in the breakfast room. Our room was small but nicely furnished. A very hard double bed, recently remodeled bathroom, TV and air-conditioning. The staff was friendly and the hotel is right next to a police station. It is located on Praça da Alegria, a square that has great potential. The only problem with this hotel was this square... despite the police station, there is a very large population of bums that ... read more

Geo: 52.3738, 4.89095Hi all,Steve and I are back home in Amsterdam. It's very relaxing to know you don't have a ton of things you really want to see. The weather here is of course cool and cloudy with rain off and on. It makes up happy that we take the advice of our favorite travel writer and "if you can pack one coat, make it a rain coat". Dam square doesn't even look like itself this weekend. There is a huge carnival going on with all the crazy unsafe rides not allowed in the US. Christine, can't help thinking about you. Enjoying the Westveleteren. We cross the pond for home tomorrow. Not looking forward to many hours in the air, but our feet need a break. Can't wait to see everyone, especially that tiny dog. Hope ... read more

Geo: 41.2171, 2.12499¡Hola! from Barcelona. The train here seemed longer than the last.. maybe because we didn´t get free stuff this time. We did have great views of the Mediterranean though. The first evening here we went to see Flamenco. Now for those of you that know the heart of Flamenco is in the south of Spain not in Catalunya. We were a bit confused too but realized that the show (we booked from home) was in a mini Spain, recreation of Spanish villages from all over the country. The Flamenco was very cool. Lots of stomping and clapping. Feet a blazing. You get a strong middle eastern influence from the singing. So our first night was tons o´ fun.Day 2 (today) we have been running around. First the Gaudi tour... WOW! That man had an eye. ... read more

Geo: 39.3603, -0.122008So we hopped a not so high speed train to Valencia. But we went first class so that gave us extra leg room (good for Mr. Skinner) and free meals and drinks. Not so bad about 3.5 hours.Valencia is Seville but bigger. Climbed the tower (of course) and then popped into a pub. Met two guys working there one from Scotland the other Dutch then moved to England. Both ended up in Valencia because of love. Steve thinks the Valencian women must be something... maybe it´s the oranges, who knows. Got great advice from them on a good place to eat (Valencia is the home of paella) and on the museum in town. We hit the museum, called the Museu Provincial de Belles Artes, they have a pretty impressive collection. Then we navigated, barely, ... read more

Geo: 40.3657, -3.84072Hi all,We are adding photos from Madrid. We went to the Prado museum on the first day. Great museum. Have covered most of the city. Enjoying the food and drink. We think Madrid is a bit Rome without as many ruins. We have had a little trouble with the language barrier. It seems very few people in Spain speak english at all! Some will try and interpret your pointing and bad Spanish pronunciation but others simply give you the NO! and send you away. (Go away you stupid American.) The high point of this came today when we tried to hop a train to Toledo (the original capital of Spain). We could not find a single person to help us get a ticket. So making the best of it we got a ticket from ... read more
