| 26th August 2009 Terry Ward | - From: Back to Reality, Oops there goes Gravity Hi Col & Dar. Glad to hear you are settled down to domesticity again, back to washing pots. Hope you have good luck in getting a job to keep bread on the table. You will have to live on all your fantastic memories for a while. That amazing vodafone device you have, I have one too. Hope you get good news on your visa for Oz. Everyone here fine and no shenanigans to report, very boring. I received the blanket for Trevor it is absolutely gorgeous and I was hoping Kamila wouldn't like it. No such luck, she loved it. I hope Kango wont end up sleeping on it. His trial is on the 22nd October so fingers crossed he wins. We all send our love and best wishes and hope everything goes well. Love you. Ter |
| 16th August 2009 Gar | Wow! - From: Final trip; Iguazu Falls Waterfall looks amazing! Love the 88 butterfly and the anteater (I think that's what he is). Fair play to all of your trip documentation. 50 buses?! Hope you have some luck with immigration tomorrow. 3 weeks and coutnign for the electric picnic, so am really looking forward to that. Will be heading off next weekend to Sligo or Bundoran or somewhere for a camping/surfing weekend with my nephew Luke. Actually will ya ask Con where would be best to go for such a wee jaunt? Maybe it depends on where the best waves are? Anything over a tiny ripple will probably do us novices : ) Take carer and look forward to hearing how your next phase of your adventures go. Love, Gar |
| 30th July 2009 Gar Tyrrell | Yo Hombres - From: Bolivia: Speeding down Death Road, a quick visit to auld Nick, a trip back in time. hey guys, First off, well impressed with all of the Tour De France antics out of yiz. Fair fucks to yez! : ) Now anyone who goes to work with coco leaves, dynamite and alcohol has to feel a little bit happy, even if they were slaves, there were/are much worse off slaves I guess? Anyway, enough shiting out of me. Was at Trev's wedding last weekend and it was a really great laugh, right from the moment we got off the plane up until sometime Sunday evening when I crashed and burned. Lovely town with great bars and outdoor areas in massive square. Reception was such a great laugh, the guy who was running the show never stopped. Really got us all going. Actually the whole thing never stopped, not for meal or speeches or anything, which was fine by all of us. I think there was something like 9 courses! I probably had about 4 of them, the rest I was up dancing/out smoking. Everyone else seemed to have a great time too. Trev was chuffed with himself for sure. Meant to get back to you before now, but was thinking the Christmas plan over - cheers for asking by the way - and I reckon I'm gonna leave it. I have to put poor oul Pete (my car) down pretty soon, so that dosh for trip will be gone alas : ( I am a good little saver, so I'll be hoping to hit down under next year and if/when I do I'll see where yez are at and hook up for some good old timey mayhem : ) PS: Am in the middle of a 2 week holiday doing loads of DIY and gardening. Really looking forward to heading to Galway with the band next Wednesday to record 6 songs. Will be sure to send yez a copy when we get it all done and dusted. Until next time my lovely hombres... PS: Keep those curls pumping Col! PPS: Pics/videos of wedding up on my Facebook. |

| 24th July 2009 Sandra Cuddler | Hair today Gone Tomorrow. - From: Bolivia: Speeding down Death Road, a quick visit to auld Nick, a trip back in time. Hi there, just had to drop a line and comment on your blog. Great reading, great photos. There surly is a book in you Darlene. Colie, travel seems to have helped you come to terms with those lovely locks. You seem to be having your shining moment with the locks, curly hair is so in right now. Death Road is something I most defiantly would not do. I got vertigo looking at your pictures and felt queasy. Eagerly awaiting the pics from Iguazo Falls. Sandra xx |
| 21st July 2009 Terry Ward | Off to Poland - From: Bolivia: Speeding down Death Road, a quick visit to auld Nick, a trip back in time. Hi Col and Darlene we are off to Poland in the morning at 6am for Trevors wedding on Saturday. Looking forward to it and fingers crossed everything will go well. We will miss you there but we will have a drink for you. Great to hear all your news. Lots of love. Ter |
| 12th July 2009 Gar | Hola - From: Cusco & The Inca Jungle Trek Inca trail sounds amazing guys, well done! Check out my pics of Rock Werchter '09, there's a few of me in a red straw hat not unlike the local you snapped above : ) RW was brilliant by the way. Not as mental as last year, but it would take some serious festival to top that one right? Alot of really good acts and the sun split the skies for most of it too. It's 2 weeks to Trev's wedding in Poland now, should be a good bit of craic. Was at Suzi Salam's 30th last night in a cool place called The Sycamore in temple bar last night. Really cool spot, but way over packed. Was a really good laugh though. Am wrecked tired as I was at a party in the northside afterwards and then earlier was recording some demo stuff with the lads in my music room. Can't wait to get down to Galway to do the recordings in mid August. Once that's done and dusted we're doing a gig up in Aaron's gaff in Baltinglass and we're hoping to play the hard Working Class Heroes festival this year. Fingers crossed! Have a blast in Bolivia ; ) Love, Gar |
| 9th July 2009 Terry Ward | Exhausted - From: Cusco & The Inca Jungle Trek Hi Col & Darlene that part of the trip sure sounded tough and only for the brave. Darlene who is that woolly haired guy your with? You know Trevor and Kamila had to cancel Peru as Kamila couldn't take the injections. From your description maybe it is just as well. Darlene there is a travel book in you somewhere. Two weeks to go to the wedding and Nadine is getting married next Saturday so we will be all weddinged up. Looking forward to the trip to Poland now. The extension is finally finished but we have no background music as we are waiting for Dunner to hook it up. Hope he reads your blog and he might feel guilty. Glad to see you are both well and happy. Luv u. Ter |
| 25th June 2009 Gar | Hola - From: Doubling back Loving the hair Collie, rock on Tommy, hah hah! : ) My heart is really bleeding for yez, what with the terrible hot bricks and the very rude, drunken flies. Iguanas are cool! I was staying in London 2 weeks ago and the people there had a bearded dragon. Cool little dude so he was. Ski time on the horizon eh? Happy days. Have a carve for me! Love, Gar |
| 23rd June 2009 Cara | - From: Doubling back Hey guys, haven't had a read of your blog for a while... so just had a great read to catch up with what you've been doing. I'm just in awe... you're really making the most of it and it's so great to hear all the things you've been doing! Fair play! Will be dying to hear all about the Inca Trail next! Everything here is grand. It was Layla's brithday on Saturday so we had a great day... she asked me yesterday if she's still 3! Other than that it's same old... Try and skype us the next time you get a chance... Darlene, you look great - shame you've to hang around with that head of hair you call a boyfriend! :) xx |
| 15th June 2009 Terry Ward | Wish you were here - From: 3 weeks in Colombia Hi Col & Dar, Darlene you are a super travel writer, they say there is a book in everyone and you are writing yours now. It is top of the bestseller list in Tallaght so you should be able to travel on on the proceeds. A great night was had by all at Trev's stags on Saturday night. Darren had doubled up with Phil Baileys so you can imagine the state of him. No one has seen him since. We had our Summer last week and whole 4 days of sunshine, I bet your mad jealous. Everyone is fine and looking forward to Poland in a few weeks. Keep well and enjoyin yourselves and miss you all the time. Luv Ter. |

Savour every moment, the photos are brilliant. I received the parcel you sent for the kids, have passed on to Alison and Colm who were delighted. I will ring Andy over the weekend and give Charlies his next weekend. We haven't been down to Tip and we are very busy with the new extension. Ciaran is doing the tiling Col. The weather here is shite at the moment and the big 'R' fastens its grip around our necks by the day, so you are in the best place and I bet there is not a person that doesn't envy you your simple carefree jungle life. Keep well and happy and hope to hear from you soon. Col I have sent up Skype so we might be able to arrange a chat sometime when you are near civilisation. Lots of Luv to you both. Ter |

| 21st April 2009 Terry Ward | Happy belated birthday Darlene - From: Action man and GI Jane Hi Col & Dar, Sorry I missed your birthday Darlene, still the only consolation is you are not as old as Collie. Glad things are going so well for you and you seem to be having a brilliant time and seeing and doing things we would never dream of. Pity about the Oz visa. Hope you are not too disappointed, everything happens for a reason if you believe that kind of crap. We have started our house extension. Dar & Trev are working on it so you can imagine what thats like Col, you are well out of it. Things are fine here, the big R is tightening its grip. Was in the First Active yesterday Dar and asked if they remembered you, Who is Darlene!!!. Keep well and keep enjoying yourselves. Luv Ter. |

| 6th April 2009 Debbie | Travel Blog Virgin - From: Action man and GI Jane Hi Guys, and Happy Birthday for yesterday Col. Hope you celebrated in sytle. When I saw mam was able to use a Blog I felt very ashamed and old and decided to have a go. The otehr thing that made me work out the whole Blog theing was the fact that your Pucon looks very like mine (Pocan). Looks like you are having an amazing trip and I am very depressed reading about all your adventures. I was getting excited and thinking I would sell up and give Cahrlie a jockey back around the world but it doesn't look like we'd be too welcome in the Hostels. he would be great for getting everyone up for the 4:30 trips. Big Hugs and Kisses Debbie & Charlie |
| 2nd April 2009 mavis o davis | Hola back atcha - From: Action man and GI Jane Hey you guys just been catching up on your south america diaries...to add my voice to the crowd so jealous! sounds like the funnest fun ever bar the scary water based adventures. Just back from the good ole U S of A with hotpot himself, had a great time but have decided i hate bridges, bicycling over bridges (although I walked really over the golden gate and nearly had a mary half way) and winding roads the involve crossing gorges over a bridge....see a theme?? We spent paddys day in my dads cousins pub in san fran got trashbagged and ended the night hanging out with a lovely homeless lady in dodge town..so ciaran tells me, i forget. then drove the road of death down the coast in a mustang and back again and hit vegas baby. I played poker and lost my shirt but all in the name of fun and games...back to reality now with a bang crazy dads and night shifts but the sun is shining and the weather is sweeet. Keep on truckin you guys and keep the stories coming, I had a few laugh out loud moments whilst reading.....miss yas and take care xxxxx mavis o davis |
| 30th March 2009 Terry Ward | Collies Birthday - From: Action man and GI Jane Hi all you keep in touchers. Its Collies birthday on 5th April so everybody wish him a happy birthday and make him feel loved. I wont say which one it is, dont want to upset him too much. Anyway from me The Ma Happy Birthday and hope Darlene makes you a birthday cake or gives you a nice present. Luv Ter. |
| 26th March 2009 Gooch | Get your crampon - From: Action man and GI Jane I'm sure I've siad this in every comment - but that looks f888888 deadly!! And all that safety apparell - its like my bestest day out! My Paddy's Day over here was at the Senior Cup Final -- you know loike, so I down a few Heinos with the boys! Me and R are doing the Ring of Kerry at Easter - cheapy Supervalu break - any recommendations...do you have the number of your psycho Eastern European 'taxi'? |
| 25th March 2009 Gar | - From: St Patricks Day - Bariloche Oh my god, Collie, that pic of you the day after Paddy's day is hilarious. I'm still laughing out loud here. Ah shit, that's the best laugh I've had all day. Priceless and hilarious! : ) I've just been onto John Wayne talking about Trev's wedding. I'm going to book an apartment for the few days we're there, and then myself and Cat are heading to Berlin by train for a few more days of mayhem before leaving continental europe at peace once more. Can't wait for that trip. Looks like you'd a great Paddy's Day, which is great to celebrate abroad with Irish and non-Irish alike I know myself already. I didn't go to the parade in the end, nor did a sup of gargle pass these lips. I had college work I had to get done which I'd let fall behind what with skiing and my birthday and all that malarky. Delighted (and pleasantly surprised) yez were out cycling - keep up the good work there. Do it a few more times and the wheezing will be gone. Are ya still of the smokes? Kyaking sounds cool, will have to give that a go one of these days. Tomorrow week I'm heading into town with the rest of the HiRise lads and the cailin's to see Eagles Of Death Metal. Should be a deadly gig. They've been added to Rock Wrechter this year too. Only myself, Cat, Graham and Rachel are booked for that so far. Everyone else is waiting for someone else to make a move I guess. That reminds me, how are the sounds going that I burned for yez? Any particular faves? OK, I've a wee exam tomorrow, so I better get a do a bit for it. Loving the stories and pics guys, keep that good stuff coming ; ) Love, Gar |
| 25th March 2009 Terry Ward | Missed You - From: Biking and barreling down a river in Bariloche Hi Collie, Sorry I missed your phone calls. I was actually there for each one but just as I got to the phone it clicked off. Glad you didn't forget you had a mother on Ma's Day. Everyone fine here and missing you loads. Hope you are both still enjoying yourselves, it look's like it from the photos but I don't like the dirty feet much. Keep safe Ter. |
| 20th March 2009 Conor | Hey Guys - From: Biking and barreling down a river in Bariloche I just read all you posts there and I have to say I'm delighted for you and a little jealous. It sounds fantastic, so keep the news coming. All good in Oz, Dowly, Fiona and myself will have a bed for you where you arrive in here. Ciao Babies, Conor |
| 16th March 2009 Jillo | You lucky devils!! - From: A trek and a half - El Calafate Arg to Coyhaique Chile I am sitting here reading your blogs and am green with envy (although not of the sleeping arrangements!!) it looks so amazing, the photos are fab and you seemed to have picked up some interesting bodies along the way. I would love to see you organise a paddy's day parade with your new crew that would be hilarious!! Keep posting, its great to hear all about your travels, happy Paddy's Day xxx |
| 14th March 2009 Gooch | Microwave Chirizo - From: A trek and a half - El Calafate Arg to Coyhaique Chile Howyas! Just sitting on your (ex)bed checking the photos - Chile looks amazing - jealous - good to hear they have fully embraced Spanish inefficiency too - oh god bless imprerialism.... Keeping in Spanish - just discovered the tastiest way to cook chirizo - in the microwave for one minute. You get all the taste of the pan but without the burnt outside. Try it. Accept no responsibilty for exploding microwaves though! Have fun kids! |
| 13th March 2009 Terry Ward | Happy St. Patrick's Day - From: A trek and a half - El Calafate Arg to Coyhaique Chile Hi Darlings, Happy St. Patrick's Day to you and I am following your long journeys into the night with great interest. The photos are stunning I can't say the same for the people in them. I am glad I cant smell you but then my nose has been used to bad smells from the Ward Gaff. I have sent you an email to slapinthejaw which should be of interest to you. Keep on rocking there seems to be plenty of them about. Smell you later as Dar says. Luv Ter |
| 11th March 2009 Gar | Hey - From: A trek and a half - El Calafate Arg to Coyhaique Chile Hey there, I just wrote a lovely letter and the bloody laptop crashed, damn! OK, the jist was that I'm deligthed to see yez are keeping it lit off out adventuring to where no man has boldy gone before, and taking things as they come. Love the pics you're taking and the stories are great too. The skiing trip was a great blast, lots of fun had salong the way. Dunner & Eddie Robinson have become official skiers, and they've truly bit the bug. They'll be back for more next year, no doubt. The conditions were varied, mostly tough enough, with plenty of wind and snow. There was a huge amount of runs to choose from so it was all good. I've a load of pics and vids up on facebook. Well, that's about it, keep on keeping on, and do try and get a Paddy's Day parade going wherever you are (if there's not one already there for you to get stuck into). Keep her lit! Love, Gar |
