2009 Sports Day at Slade School .......... Lots of fun and some very creditable performances with at least one first place for each of the boys. There was a house system in place which had recently been selected by the pupil council (apparently children think healthy competition is a good idea) - four houses compete based upon the elements earth, water, air and fire. The boys are all in Fire (red team) who scored a win in the Junior sports day and a very close second in Infants sports day. Mum and Dad came along on the Monday to watch Henry and James race in the juniors (which explains the quality photos of Henry and James). They were to witness immediate success from James who burst through to a creditable second in the shuttle run. James ... read more

Chaps - suggested route for morning of Sunday 22nd. Proposing either MTB/Hybrids's with skinny tyres or road bikes. I reckon we talking 40 miles plus up to about 10% to cover mapping inaccuracies. Mostly quiet country lanes and I know the route.... read more

Ted was in angelic form at the recent Slade school infants christmas play "Whoops A Daisy Angel". They put on 3 seperate performances, the last one started at 7 O Clock which meant he didn't get to bed until 8.30pm - as a special treat he was allowed to arrive to school at 10.30 the next morning and he had an extra play on the adventure playground. Edward is very proud of his achievements and enjoyed:- - flying in the air (I don't remember that bit), - all the actions and singing - looking at my daddy and waving at you (and granny and mummy and Henry and James)... read more

Today Edward started in reception class at his new school - Slade Primary in Tonbridge. For the first week he is attending 8.45AM to 12.00PM and then he will switch to full time thereafter. His new teacher is called Miss Munro. He was escorted to school by his proud parents and supportive brothers. Conditions were a fair 15 degrees celcius and overcast. A few highlights from the man himself:- 1. I did painting 2. I did putting hands in the paint 3. I played outside with Theo on the pirate ship. Playing pirates or something. 4. I didn't do anything else. 5. The teacher told me about looking at the teacher and listening. 6. I think I played with the castle and the knights again with Theo. 7. I sat next to William, he's my friend. ... read more

Hi there this is Henry's triathlon adventure photographed on location at Ferndown Sports Centre where we camped overnight. We camped next to a boy called Harrison who was in the same race as me and I had lots of fun playing with him. He had the same bike as me and we had fun racing together. Henry placed 10th out of 16 in the 9 and 10 year old "Tristars 1" category (150m swim, 1 mile bike, 800m run). This was an excellent result, particularly as he was racing against some older children. Despite climbing out of the pool in second to last place he managed to bomb past a number of competitors on the bike and run:- Tristar 1 408 Stevey-May Biles 16.18 414 Sophie Pembroke 17.29 421 Marissa Stevenson 18.01 412 Amy Chalmers 18.09 ... read more
