Missing you Jarek, Terrie and I want you to know that we miss you and hope that you are doing well there in China. We now live in Ogden, Utah and we love it here. You two have fun and keep us up to date.
Love it! Your 12 days of Christmas is too funny, but I'm not sure I understand "the baby butts"?????? You two have so much in common it amazes me! You'd almost think the Lord had a hand in getting you together! (Tee hee! Of course He did! No question here!) I'll send you and email a little later.......just had to comment on your song!
Great post, guys! We are running a Christmas photo challenge at the moment by which we hope to gather photos and descriptions of Christmas traditions from all around the world. If you'd like to participate, write a couple of sentences about Christmas in your countries or in China, send us a photo to represent it and we will publish the best entries on our blog with a link to your site. Sounds good? :) Here you will find more details: http://hitchhikershandbook.com/2013/12/21/christmas-traditions-around-the-world-photo-challenge/
Merry Christmas and a happy New Year! :)
Love reading your blog! I always have to read a little to decide who is writing. I usually can tell after a few lines. I look forward to seeing your pictures and reading what you have talked about! Gee! It would be fun to be a mouse in your pocket just for a few days! You two are on such an adventure! I hope you're keeping a journal with the real thoughts and feelings about being in China, the spiritual stuff, and things that you will never experience again. your first Christmas together will certainly be different than most peoples first Christmas's as a married couple. Looks like I'm out of space. Just know that we love you and pray for you always. Congrats Jerek on the 2nd place win at your speech contest! Whoo Hoo for You! LOVE & (((HUGS))) G'ma O
Love your posts! It's so fun to read about the things you are doing! And it never ceases to amaze me the wonderful people who "just happen to be in Your path"! I truly believe that there are NO coincidences! I can see the hand of the Lord in your every step! You are so blessed! You are much braver than i would be......NO chance of me eating pickled pigs feet, although G'ma J loves them. At least she used to.......she's kind of forgotten a lot of things, like what she likes and doesn't!
I was wondering about the weather there......it is definitely fall here. Does it get really cold? Guess I could google China and find out but thought I'd just ask you! Love and (((HUGS))) to you both! G'ma O
So fun to read about your adventures! I'd love to be a mouse in your pocket and go on some of your adventures with you! Sounds like your having the time of your life! Sure hope your keeping up your journal......but I guess the blog sort of serves that purpose.
Can you give us some landmarks to get some idea how close you are to someplace we'd recognize. I've looked on the map but it's a little hard to tell how far it is from one place to another.
G'pa is doing much better. I am only giving him IV's 3 times a day now instead of 5 times. One anti-biotic was every 8 hours around the clock. and the other one was 8 AM & 8 PM. Life is much easier now that it's only 3 times a day! Wish you could see the pictures I posted on FB. I picked a gallon of raspberries and most of them were the size of a quarter. Yummy! What kind of fruit can you get in China?
Have been canning.....24 pints of salsa! Oh so good! Dill pickles, peach & raspberry jam, bread and butter pickles, peach jam and have tomatoes to do tomorrow! It's late and I need some sleep! Have to be up and funtioning by 7 AM! Love you !! G'ma
We love reading your blog. I(Brenton) read it to my sweet wife on Sunday mornings. It is so fun reading about your adventures. We are four weeks away from having your youngest cousin. We will send pics asap.
Aw! I miss you guys so much! And I can't wait to see pictures of her. You are SO close! I can't believe you are already that close. It makes me so happy to think about:) I just wish I were there! I hope everything goes well and everyone stays healthy and happy. I love you both so much (and the baby, too!)
~Lou
Loved reading your blog So fun to read and feel your excitement and enthusiasm for what you are doing! You are right Jarek......there are no coincidences! The Lord is in control of everything. How exciting for you to get to see your friend from France. When do you start school? Are you all settled and ready to go? Be safe and enjoy the journey! Love you both! (((HUGS))) G'ma
Great Blogging Goin' On!! I love this blog. 3 things:
Jarek, you wrote, "After that, I didn’t feel so grouchy about having a full day after a night on a plane." I can't imagine you've EVER been grouchy :0)
The caves: WOW!! I listened to a recording of Tim's piece while looking at pictures of the Waitomo Caves, trying to imagine what that experience was like for you two and the Concert Choir. It was moving for me and I wasn't even there :0)
The fireside where you both spoke: I would have loved to have been there. I can't imagine those YSA and Youth could have had better, more loving examples of newlyweds than the two of you :0)
I love that you had this powerful, profound, incredible experience, trip and opportunity to share the Gospel through performance. Thanks for blogging about it :0)
Love, Lee
awesome performance You guys were awesome tonight - such a privilege to have the opportunity to hear and enjoy all your lovely voices - hope you enjoy the rest of your journey In New Zealand and Australia! Keep writing your blog, one day your kids will love it!
Woo-hoo! Great plans! Great life ahead for you two! What a great blog!! I'm so happy there's a blog, so we can follow you on your trips and adventures. I knew you two were going to do great things but I didn't know it'd be so soon; I thought you'd be at BYUH for a couple more years.
What're ya doin' in China for a year? My guess: Teaching English to have experience and to make bookoodles of money. That was my plan, until recent health problems got in the way (I wanted to teach in South Korea or in the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in China). I'm glad the two of your are going to have that experience...IF THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO BE DOING IN CHINA BUT WE DON'T KNOW YET!!!!! I'm beside myself with anticipation!!!!! Why didn't you include that part in your blog????? Are you teasing us? Grrr! I'm dying to know! Please let us know. Lee
Aloha Jarek and Kaylee! Hi there, you two. Approximately 8 weeks, 3 days, 22 hours, 15 minutes and 39 seconds? Could you be more specific, please? Sincerely, Lee #2 (I'm the Lee who's sitting beside the first Lee, filled with anticipation and almost dead from lack of knowledge)
The Blog..... :D Jarek and Kaylee, loved the start of your blog. I'm so glad your lives are finding enrichment and joy. I know Heavenly Father is surely blessing you both, and will continue to bless your lives together. Jarek, you know it goes without saying I love you, you're a good man and I'm glad Kaylee has you in her life. I wish you both much excitement as you begin your adventure to New Zealand and Australia. Keep us up on what's happening. Yours in Heavenly Father's love, David & Terrie.
We are best friends forever! Literally! Our adventures began April 19, 2013 when we made the special promise of marriage. We have been traveling since the day we got married and will keep traveling for a very long time. The world keeps getting bigger and, after all, there is nobody better to travel with than your very best friend!
