i love it I love animals. Yes, I do. And when I was looking at your pics I smiled and felt so good. Thank God animals exist. Thank you. Love from Argentina.
Fantastic pics! This is my favorite blog entry yet. Those are some incredible bear pics, I am envious. I didn't get to see any bears in the wild in AK, of course the 80+ temps didn't help that. Katmai looks like a very cool place.
Nice blog guys! I've lived almost my whole life in the NW and have yet to travel up to Alaska - after seeing these photos, man I really need to go there! It's a shame bears have become so feared in the continental U.S - sure they wander into camps and approach hikers aggressively because they've associated humans with food (as in, the tasty food we humans carry, not humans AS food) - so how refreshing to hear the flip-side of their wildlife story.
Stunning Photography and Blog Wow, these photos are simply stunning! Thanks for sharing these with us........with a great journal to boot! Yes, keep them coming. We'd be waiting.
(I'd be busy rating your photos --- can't get over them!)
another great blog entry Mike, I'm really enjoying your blog and photos from your trip. I well remember how disorienting the sunrise/sunset times there can be. We were lucky to have such hot weather compared to what you guys experienced- being in the interior helped. Didn't fish for any kings but saw plenty in the rivers on the way to Denali. I thought the look of the rivers was really interesting, very different than what I'm used to in the eastern US. Glad you guys enjoyed the kayaking!
Keep Traveling! LOVED the pictures and text. It so exciting to have you back on the road entertaining us with your adventures and magnificent photos. Great stuff! I can picture you tumbling in and out of the kayak. I'd be scared to death and run home!
Lots of love,
Marge
Photography I use a Nikon D700 and a Nikon D90 but taking the pics is only half the work. I spend about a whole day on each blogs photography in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Glad you've enjoyed them!
Gorgeous! As usual, ya'll are awesome to "virtual travel" with. I actually have two paintings of Homer, AK area, and your photos/blog now really make me want to see AK in person. Keep sending the updates!
The View From Our Porch, Anchor Point I LOVE the photo. It stirs up a great desire to get out my oil paints, copy the photo and hang it on my wall. Your photos are wonderful. Somehow you've got to do something about those photos for the public to enjoy!
Love the blog. So glad those are coming again! Can't wait for the next one.
Lots of love,
Marge
I LOVED your Alaska post! I've always wanted to go there but haven't made it yet. I can't believe the size of those crab legs! My blog is looking for travel photos, reviews, commentaries, etc, to share. If you have the time, check it out at dirty-hippies.blogspot.com, or email me at dirtyhippiesblog@gmail.com. If you'd like to share that photo of the truck with the funny joke on the window, I would love to post for our readers to get a laugh! Continued fun on your travels!
Heather :)
Inquiry Hello! I just stumbled across your blog as I'm planning a trip to Jordan in early June. It makes me excited to go! My wife and I are coming from Egypt so will be doing a reverse route to yours. How did you travel from between sites? Did you hire a taxi for the day, rent a car, go with a tour group....??? Thanks for your help.
from Arizona! so much to absorb when we visited cities along the Adriatic in Jan. 2010--your blog concerning Mostar is excellent and clarified some points; pix are fantastic
volim piti:) I love all the pictures! But.. about how you talk about the Dalmation Coast, well it would be nice if more tourist stop by the Inlands a little more. if you think the people that live on the Dalmation Coast are laid back you need to come to my part of Croatia:) all we do is eat, drink, sing, and hunt! I live in LA but my family lives in Croatia and every summer I visit all I do is those 4 things my whole vacation:) Oh and a little tip (Croatians do not like to be compared to Italians) just wanted to let you know;)
Horse riding games rock! Nnice short and sharp post on rodeo. It sounds soo cool! That "Ouch" photo is awesome, and i think well sums up the whole deal. Ive never seen a rodeo before, but i can only imagine it being nuts.
Ive just finished living in Kyrgyzstan for 6 months and i saw some pretty whack horse riding games there. The Kyrgyz are a nomadic ppl whose lives revolve around horses, much like your cowboys. I truly believe you and Kel will love it! http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/blog-445174.html
For all of you who don't know us, we are a relatively normal married couple from Richmond, VA. We have been married for 5 years and have been friends since we met at Capital One on our first day of work. We have decided to make a "nontraditional move" with our lives. On November 7th, 2006 Kel and I left everything behind and started traveling beginning with Lisbon, Portugal. The plan was to start in Europe, hit Asia, Australia and New Zealand and then return to Europe to finish our year. Before it was all said and done we added destinations in the Middle East and Africa. The trip was am... full info
