Keep it up old boy!! You are doing fab! So good to see pics of Baku and how it has changed since we were there. I seem to remember visiting a rather painful massage and sauna somewhere round this part of the world. Love the blog.... wishing I could share some of this. However off to the high Arctic for a 4 week photography project next week.... Blowing hot and cold!

Keep at it! Hello from the States. I was just skimming the site when I ran across your latest entry. Good luck with your ride, I have always wanted to do something similar, do a tour of a part of the world I know little about. I'll be interested in reading your entries and viewing your photos. Keep at it!
Latch Clive, Another great blog. It's great to hear of your adventures and of the fascinating (and generous) people you are meeting. As for the phots, they're great so keep them coming. Keep tredding and stay safe! Andy L

I was one of the "professional couples" who met you in Alfriston back in March. I've been following your various blogs as you've made your way across Europe to the Middle East. Enjoyable reading, great shots and you seem to have had an amazing trip thus far. I wish you all the best as you enter what will be a demanding stage of your world trip. Good luck and keep those wild dogs at bay.
Hi Nick,
thanks ever so much for your e-mail. I hope that you and your family are well. Soon to arrive in Malatya, Turkey where I shall be visiting Nemrut Dagi. Then approximately 3 weeks left before I shall be crossing the border into Georgia. I was intending to route via Iran, but due to there being too much information about me on the internet including my military past it will be difficult for me to obtain a visa. The trip so far has been epic and particularly Turkey has been extremely welcoming and interesting throughout. I will publish my next blog once I have entered Georgia. All the best. Clive

Clive, its been a long time buddy.
Amazing what you are doing.
I have family in south America (Colombia) who will accommodate and look after you if needed.
Drop me a line when you can to catch up...

Efes - Pamukkale Hey Clive!
We've heard that you cycled to Pamukkale in one day, well done! The road was good, wasn't it? We've just made it here as well, just in time before the midday heat! Hope to catch up with you in Cappadocia again! Take care, safe travels.

Antalya Hallo Miguel, hallo Nora, vielen Dank fuer euren e-mail. Ich hoffe es geht euch beide gut. Bin heute in Antalya angekommen. Machs gut. Clive

BETTER THAN BBC BOOK AT BEDTIME! Always glad to know you are safe and well. Through knowing you and the hospitality you encounter offered my lawn to camp on to an interesting cyclist from California (via Paris who works in the US National Parks, done Peace Work in Cote d'Ivoir, India, 2 degrees Biol, Engineering) and has just been to Glastonbury Avebury Stonehenge. Met at a pub while visiting friends nr Bristol, but not addicted to beer or blokes! Cycled from Fareham yest now taking rainy day off. Looked up your Y Hostel at Alfriston but too near for her next leg - Dover-Calais-Brussels-Scandinavia. Is it okay to pass on your blog? Rachel has not wrecked yr house yet but oh I do miss her!
Hi Deidre, just got your comment. Thank you. I hope that you are well.
Currently holed up in Izmir, Turkey and having a day off tomorrow before cycling onwards to Ephesus. Have already encountered many old ruins at Troy, Assos and Bergama, but apparently Ephesus is meant to be out of this world.
Just had a cut throat razor shave in the local market area. The Turks really know how to provide a good service.
Will most likely be in this country for the next 8 weeks. It's a huge country!
So grateful that Rachel is taking good care of my house. She's a great girl.
Next blog will most probably come out in the next two weeks or so when I have a few more photos and some stuff to write about.
Take care and thanks again for the message.
Clive xx
Well framed May this pic give you strength for the journey ahead. Reckon you'll need to be tough as stone...determined as the clenched fists...optimistic as the eternal flames.

Another great blog... The tour through the former Yugoslavia sounds amazing and probably a lot more exciting than being sat off it in the Adriatic for months a time!
Over 5 years have passed since I cycled around the UK and Ireland and the time has come to get back in the ol' saddle. This time I will attempt to initially make the shores of New Zealand, initially cycling through Europe to Istanbul, the gateway to Asia, before following the silk routes through Central Asia and China to the Far East. Following a flight or preferably a boat journey to Australia, I will attempt to cycle across the Nullabor from Perth to Sydney, before heading onwards to New Zealand. I look forward to sharing my journey with you.... full info
