StuerziBernd - Bernd Stuerzenhofecker

Bernd Stuerzenhofecker Hi, my name is Bernd Stuerzenhofecker and I study Information- & Communication Technology at the University of Erlangen. That is next to Nuernberg in the northern party of Bavaria/Germany.

But this year I make an ERASMUS study exchange at the Technical University of Hungary to improve my english, do the rest of my 4 courses I need, see the country and of course have a lot of fun during this time.

I'll probably stay here until next year because I plan to write my pre-diploma thesis here in Hungary in the winter semester.

So don't hesitate to contact me, if you come to Budapest:

Visegrad

 Europe » Hungary » Budapest
Small village between Szentendre and Ezstergom, very famous for medival castle standing on the hill overlooking the Danube. Visegrád is picturesquely situated at the exit of a loop in the Danube in the Danube Bend about 40km (25mi.) north of Budapest. This historical town is a popular destination for excursions because of the ruins of the royal palace and the views from the citadel. History The Romans took advantage of the strategic location above the Danube founding a military camp on the Sibrik Hills in the 4th C (reconstruction of a watch tower near Fo utca). In the 9th C Slavs [View Full Entry]

So, since last week all my exams here are over now. On Friday it was very hectic cause I had 2 exams at one day. 1st one at 8.30 and during the teacher was still explaining sth, I already started - must finish. Then send him the solutions and run to the next building up the 7th floor where the other students where already sitting. But yesterday I got my results and I passed everything with satisfactory achievement. Thus I could make party the weekend. There was the flat party of Theo on Friday who had already left now and [View Full Entry]

Exam Time

 Europe » Hungary » Budapest
[View Full Entry]

Krakow from above
Last weekend we went for a trip to Poland that was organised by the esn form university. After a 9 h trip we reached the cheapest hostel in Krakow. As we were too late for dinner there we started to explore Krakow at night. So we found some snack bar's to eat and asked for some Pubs and local diskos. Surprisingliy the polish beer is quite good, I'm so use to the hungarian awful ones. Next day, the organisation was quite chaotic. No one has seen the organizer since we left the bus, so we did't know at which time [View Full Entry]

The last days were really fully booked. On Friday we were rock climbing the whole day with some mentors outside in the Buda Hills. Really good and nice to learn/try it a little bit. Saturday morning I went with Andre to Tokaj - the famous white wine region in the northeast of Hungary. There had arranged to meet with the other esn-group from Debrecen. In price it is quite cheap here. Accomodation less than 7€ and beer in the Disco also only 1€. Before we started with wine tastings, we looked around in the village of Tokaj and visited the [View Full Entry]

But first there was a big international Erasmus Party, organized by the esn (European Student Network) because of their 20th birthday. It was very cheap: Entrance and every drink 1€. And this was a good change to get rid of the 1€-coins you cannot use here. So a lot of people or almost every one (@mum: not me!!!!!) was very drunken and slept the whole day. But those who were a little bit fitter, gathered to go to [View Full Entry]

Common dinner in my flat before we started
As there was a holiday on last Thursday and riots, we took the possibility to make a bigger trip. So I've planed detailed weeks before. We were 18 people and 2 Mini-Vans, each for 9 persons: 11 students from Budapest, 6 form Debrecen plus my sister in Romania who has organized a very unique local first day and was a very great dolmetscher. A quite multinational group with 4 germans, 4 portugiese, 2 polish and turkish, as well as 1 czech, finnish, italian, singapore and south korean. So after a common dinner on Wed at my flat we started to [View Full Entry]
