Thanks for sharing Welcome home! We enjoyed reading about your adventures.
Personally, it encouraged me to go ahead and plan the London trip to Italy.
See you soon.
I was there! Our tour bus crossed the bridge from the mainland 15 minutes before the tornado hit!!! The group behind us wasn't allowed through until the next day.
Isn't Venice fabulous!!!!!????
Wonderful! Thanks for taking us on this journey with you! Matt, your photos are amazing- I'd love to get copies of several. Let me know when you're open for business! Aunt Nise- your narrative makes me feel like I'm right with you- what a gift you have for writing! Glad to hear about the bonding- I'll make sure to plan a similar trip with my boys- when they're a little older- and potty trained! Love ya!
Wow! I didn't know there were TWO fabulous storytellers in the Hebert clan. I have listened to Doug tell so many of the same beautiful, thought-provoking stories about Romanian culture over the last three (or so) years. It is neat to have them captured in written form along with Matt's amazing photography. This is a gift, Matt...thank you both for sharing your experiences. I actually have some absolutely gorgeous Romanian glass pieces Betsy has given me...you are right...breathtaking! By the way...we miss you!
Hi What an awesome blog. I have been reading everything and looking at all the wonderful pictures. It looks like you two are having the time of your life! Matt, you should get some "artsy" pics of TEAM MOM...:) We haven't seen much of her. Thanks for sharing your time with us -- it's a great escape. I am anticipating your next entry! Love you both.
Venice photos I've searched the net for a couple of years now looking for just the right photos for my living room. Subject: Venice gondolas with colorful buildings in view, canel scenes....I'm putting my order in, too! Fell in love with this city several years ago and want to capture it in my living room! Thanks, Matt!
about the massive door pic the "massive" door picture...this would be a perfect painting. matt...i'm already starting to make a list of prints i want!!! i know only more will be added as you all venture through italy. love and miss you two!!!
Great Pics Hey guys, love the pictures and the blog. Makes me jealous too. Glad you are getting an opportunity to enjoy a really wonderful country that most people miss.
By the way, I think I've eaten at that restraunt!!!
Lucky Man Matt- your pictures capture the essence of this loving country. They also remind me of just how lucky I have been to grow with the admiration of these generous people. The Romanians prove that giving is from the heart and NOT from the pocketbook.
Denise--I can talk and talk and no one can understand what I have experienced here. Your visit here has given me a real opportunity to share my experiences in this, my adopted home.

Great Job Denise and Matt, I really enjoyed the tour. The Team seems to have had an interesting trip. I felt the slow pace through the photos. Hope the rest of your trip was as rewarding.
Thanks for sharing.

can't keep my mouth shut Your observations are clarifying and your emotions are touching. I find it interesting that so many of the American "left" idolize the culture that you are experiencing. They wish for the country that you praise God for, would "progress" into such a state. Keep up the good work and have much fun.
Those Romanian men really work fast, no? Less than 24 hours in the country and some old geezer has his arm around you! Don't kid yourself. Those guys LOVE American gals!
Woo Hoo! We're glad ya'll made it! Things are fine here...don't worry.
We can't wait to see some pictures! Wake up! There's time to sleep when you get back to Tulsa.
Matt, a video/film/photography major at Oklahoma University, has a passionate love of Italy. Mom has always wanted to do some European traveling so the 2 teamed up for some quality bonding time. This was the opportunity to spend time with Mom's brother in Romania and then the Son & Mom Excursion Team will venture off to Italy. ... full info
