Cannibals! Well, I suppose N of Wormtown (where the only life is underground) you may think travel enlightens, but read Descartes and learn, (travel/travail) or Herodotious about India. A desparate world of couples who can no longer really bond. Between races there will be a spritual gulf you cannot cross. MOst marrages end in divorce and sex has no meaning these days anyway; morphogensis, tribe. Sea change (Iran attack) for the comfort of the police state. Stay in India!
keep young, keep an open mind We have been to India several times and Anjuna once for two weeks, we were in Vagatior for one day only at the end and it has remained in my mind. We are retiring next week and will be returning to India for 3 months next year, Vagator will be a stop for a month after we have spent a month touring the country by train and befor we go to south Goa. You will have had your train journey by now and have been impressed by the efficiency of Indian Railways, when we used them from Mumbai to Goa we were woken up in the morning with tea - in bone china cups!!!. I know India will call you back as it has done us over the years. We have considered buying in Goa to live most of the year but, unfortunatly, unless you are a NRI the odds are stacked against you. Still, we can return each year for a glorious holiday for 3 months.

Hope you got back safe and sound :) Dear Adrienne,
Hi! Hope you got back to the US safe and sound. I'm sure your Indian adventure was great. As one who has been there as well, know that you will be processing it for a good while. Some of the insights will come to you later on -- God doesn't waste anything -- He's a huge recycler :). Glad you went and had the adventure. Keep adventuring in life. Know that God will guide you if you will allow Him to -- He is always a gentleman, so He will never force you. As you look back on your adventures, may they bring a smile to your face, a twinkle in your eye and many deep thoughts to your head. Have a wonderful day! If you want to chat about India, you got my e-mail above, or if chatting by phone is better, 512-630-4395 is my cell. So what is next for you? Know that you always have friends here in Texas if you venture back this way. Take care and may God bless your future adventures. Andy :o)
not totally true... Not every terrorist is a muslim...and Narinder's assumption about this is totally wrong. I hope you don't take what Narinder tells you to be true, by that simple saying, I could be a terrorist. I am glad India has opened your eyes and have learned a lot.
You're a Boomer Duet! That's what I'm going to start calling you, and sometimes just Boomer if I'm too lazy to say Duet. and Ummm, you're going to call me white mischief, GOT IT BOOMER!!! WHITE MISCHIEF!!!!
PS-I got the friggin mother of all tunics for you. Thank GOD!! I was getting nervous!!
Happy Birthday!!! :) Dear Adrienne,
Happy Birthday!!!! Hope you're having a great time in India. Sounds like it. Have a fun birthday! If you come back Austin/Round Rock way when you return, maybe we'll have to grab some ice cream to celebrate your new year. Don't know that we'll be able to find any encased in wheat bread, but maybe that will be ok since it was Laura's favorite, and not yours :). Do you have a favorite kind of ice cream? Have a wonderful day! Take care and may God bless you as you continue your Indian adventure and learn of the wonders that are out there :-). May He bless your new year with much joy! Andy :o)
google so do you know when i googled "Boomer Duet" - your travel blog came up in the top 2 spots? good to know, i'm sure. shine on you crazy ass diamond lover.
Missin my sister Dear Adrienne,
Glad to know that you are safe. Grammy called me all worried. We all want you to come home safe. We miss you! Happy early Birthday. Eddy Veder personally wants you here for the show on June 30th. Haha!
Love you,
Joe
you are the funniest chick i know! and i cant believe that narinder is only 24,25 or 26. the name makes him sound sooo much older!! happy early birthday! and i 2nd salma- where the heck are the pics???? stop the suspense already!!! love you.
i miss you too... :-) fyi, my sister, janie, is totally obsessed with your blog. i think you should know she informs me when you have written something new. if you had a daily column, she would log on at midnight to see what the gods have to say today.
and i miss you, too. it makes me feel special to see you miss me. sooo... just for kicks and grins 'what would i eat if i were back home today?' let's see... the other day we went to catalina island and ate at a great seafood restaurant. i had the grilled halibut with rice pilaf and the best steamed broccoli i've had in 2 months!!! and today was cheesecake factory. i had a reuben with fries (strangely, they didn't put the masala spices on the fries, thank you JESUS!!!), and the ***adam's*** blah blah chocolate peanut butter gooey cheesecake whatever-it's-called. tomorrow?? olive garden!! i think i'll have the tour of italy with the best salad and breadsticks on the planet... you know you miss it!!
narinder's so cute how he is trying his hardest to take care of you. just remember... no swimming in juhu beach, i would hate for you to get male-pattern baldness from the mysterious 'fungus'. speaking of swimming, when we were at the hotel in new delhi, i forgot to mention i saw your boy intently watching other people swimming, and then trying to teach himself. then he was telling me how water kept going up his nose. lucky he didn't drown, he was just doing what he saw other people doing, and he'd never been in a pool before. it was really quite impressive. i think with a lesson or 2, he could go for the olympics.
btw, i was kiddin. i really didn't go to the cheesecake factory today, but maybe tomorrow i will.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! TO BOTH OF YOU!!! when you comin home, girl??
:-) wow. all i can say is 'wow'. i really can't decide whether you should come home or stay there. either way, i'm very excited for you. we kept asking narinder to dance for us, i'm kinda sad i never got to see it. i figured he'd have the moves. i hope you made a little video of it. i'm glad to hear your new in-laws are so much fun, but really i wouldn't picture it any other way. and i would imagine they are as gracious as narinder. sooo... what's the plan?? another indian wedding, then headed back to goa?? whatever the case, i couldn't be happier for you. miss you bunches!!! xoxox to you, and hugs to Narinder
i miss... so, one time at band camp.... ummm... i mean india... remember when i said i was sure after i got home, i would miss the punjabi music? i'm still waiting to miss it. but i DO miss you and Narinder. and i miss Kevin. he is so fantastic. what a great comment he left.
i think you will have a great time in mumbai. i think if we had been there with Narinder and his family, they would have shown us all things good about the city.
when you come home, let me know. i'll have a new package of hair ties just for you. and even a hair clip (2 if you're good). afterall, you seemed to especially like these items of mine. and no more gum rations for you like i had to do in india, instead, i'll buy you a few packs of dentyne ice of your very own. love you!!!
Dear Sister It was really nice to hear from you today!! I really want you HOME for June 30th, so we can go to PEARL JAM!!!! I love and support you no matter what you do, as long as you are safe and happy and healthy :)
Love,
Brother Joe :)
