HOLA!! Currently, I am living in Buenos Aires, Argentina ... which is why I made this blog, although I am really horrible at updating on my experiences here.

I am a university student at Saint Michael's College in Burlington, Vermont; it's true, it's beautiful there. My major is literature and I have a minor in Religious Studies. I plan on becoming A LOT better at Spanish so I can come back to Argentina and know what's going on. Also, I want to teach English as a Second Language there or somewhere else.

I am from Erie, PA, right on Lake Erie. I play ice hockey, softball, and love to sail, be on the water, and kayak. At my university I am a Wilderness Leader and focus on trekking, kayaking, rafting, and some climbing (including ice climbing). I love to volunteer, especially with Habitat for Humanity.

I know my own country pretty well, especially the North East and most of Ontario, Canada. Other than that, I'm an adventure and currently, I'm adventuring.

Hola! Well, as expected this travel blog thing is definitely falling by the wayside. Everything has been so busy and I never really want to site around and type everything on the computer when I could be doing so much more. Anyways, it's been about 10-12 days here and I love it, don't get me wrong the city is a big adjustment because I'm not used to the hustle and bustle of a big city, but it is just a starting point and a wonderfully cosmopolitan home base. This weekend I plan to either hop on a bus to Tigre or take the Tren de la Costa for a day trip, and maybe a hostel for the night, who knows, I really have no concrete plans. So far, I only have one class that lasts 3-4 ... read more

I have been getting much more involved with volunteer work ever since I started my life at Saint Michael's College. Through the MOVE (Mobilization of Volunteer Efforts) which also works through Campus Ministry there are limitless options and opportunities are open to anyone willing to put the effort and devotion in. There are trips to New Orleans, Kentucky, Boston, New York City, Florida, the Dominican Republic, Calcutta, Tanzania and many others. Having grown up around manual labor, hardware, and construction I am really interested in Habitat for Humanity; I also am interested in the issues with immigration and migrant workers. So, over Christmas Break from January 6-13 me and 8 other SMC'ers headed down to Immokalee, FL to work with Habitat for Humanity, work at an afterschool program, and learn more about living wages and the ... read more

During my training for Wilderness Leader status in the Wilderness Progam at Saint Michael's College, my current and amazing residence, we hiked about 20 miles of the Long Trail divided up between two trips. The first trip was in late October, we hiked up Mount Laraway down to Butternut Saddle and camped off of Corliss Camp. It was spectacular, the day we saw the firey colors of autumn's last rush and then we woke up the next morning to a layer of fresh, white snow! The first day we did about 6-7miles, then hoofed it the next day about 8-9 miles across the many of Butternut Mntn.'s false summits and then into Devil's Gulch, which was full of pointy, sharp, soaked, frozen rocks tinged with moss. It was great, of course being the graceful one that ... read more
