The new bike looks good. I will be interested to know your impressions of it once you have owned it a few months. I was thinking of buying this model also. Rob
Gone You'r going to need a flip sign at the head of the driveway........Home, on the front, and....GONE AGAIN on the flip side.
Nice looking bike - and glad to see you are on the road again eating up the miles and the BBQ.
Looks great That looks like a great ride and should be a very good rally bike. I've never seen those Suzuki bags before on one so you have something a bit different which is always fun. Jim Winterer just tied for fourth in the IB5K on a DL 650. I had dinner with him and he was a hoot!
Iron Butts on a 650 Sandee ...
You are right, I want be doing Iron Butt rides on a 750, I will be doing them on a 650. Planning my first SS1000 on the new bike.
so happy hey alec i am so happy you love it so much, and so is beau. glad you made it home safe! have a blast with it man! it looks comfy at your house! thanks again!
Glad you're OK Sorry to hear about your misfortune, but ATGATT and your previous "bouncing" experience were on your side! Glad you're OK Alec. I'll send a note to your email. Mike
A shadow no? I rode across the states zig zagging all the way about 12 years ago on a CB750, I rocked up about 6000 miles on that trip and I'm jealous as hell of you, I have nothing under my arse at the moment but hope to get something soon, have a ball and aim for the gap between the green bits, happy trails
Miles ... I have been asked how many miles the Shadow had on it. I put just over 16,000 miles her. I was hoping to ride her for 100,000 miles but the insurance company just called and said that the frame is bent. Now do I stay with a Cruiser type bike or get a real touring bike. Lets see what the insurance company gives me for her.
Wreck Alec, Glad your OK. I know what its like to go down and destroy your bike. Been there, done that. I read your blog because you have a unique bike. You have fixed it up nicely and really put the miles on. I wanted to see how many miles before you changed bikes. Looks like it could happen sooner rather than later. We'll be waiting to see what happens next. Keep posting. Also, let us know how many miles on the Shadow. Sorry this had to happen but I'm glad you're on the mend.
Contact them .... So far they the Butty Buddy people have been real helpful to me and always seem to answer all my questions. I would direct your questions that way. My wife is still enjoying our!

I came across your blog by accident, but I really enjoyed it! I love road trips across the US, and your post made me want to do another one! My blog is looking for travel photos, reviews (like maybe even of The Pink Pig!?!), etc, to share. If you have the time, check it out at dirty-hippies.blogspot.com, or email me at dirtyhippiesblog@gmail.com.

Awesome Ride One year ago, we purchased the Butty Buddy, after trying the gel pad. Rides were very uncomfortable before the Butty Buddy. Now we talk off and ride for hours. I now can ride for more than 8 hours.
We have plans to ride Memeorial Day. Today, we were getting our gear ready for the ride. Oh no! Where is the Butty Buddy. It is gone. We cannot find it. We now think it was left on the cycle trailer and bounced off onto the road. I have dicided not to ride UNTIL I get unother Butty Buddy.
Seat Comfort Finally! My husband had a 2007 H-D Road King. The passenger seat always seemed uncomfortable for me after about 2 hours of riding. First I bought a gel pad, that didn't work out, so I returned it. They several people said get an Air Hawk, which I didn't like either, so I returned it. I came across the ButtyBuddy on the internet and decided to give that a try for $161.00. The day after it arrived (4-6 days regular shipping), my huband installed it in 12 minutes and we hopped on the bide for a ride of about 4 hours. Finally - I am comfortable!!! No painful butt or tailbone. Also, bumps, railroad crossings, and road vibrations are greatly diminished. Now we can go on those long roadtrips we've always talked about. The seat raises the passenger height about 1" and works very well with my contoured backrest.
My name is Alec and I am from Eastover, SC. I am the father of six and along with my wife and kids we raise fainting goats on our little farm.
My first motorcycle was a 1974 Honda CB250T that I bought for $200 in 1981. That was the first of many bikes. This blog will allow you to share in my passion for motorcycles and the places they can take you.
When I started this travel blog I had just purchased a 2007 Honda Shadow Spirit VT750DC. I purchased this bike new in May of 2008, after years of being without a bike, to be a simple run around bike to save gas and have a little fun on. I... full info
