Awesome. I've been doing these AMA Grand Tours for about a decade now. Finish some of them, run out of time on others. I'm signed up for this one and have plenty of places to visit this summer that I've never been to before.
My wife calls all of the pictures I've taken on these tours bike butt pictures as that's where my 'rally' sign is.
have fun.
Will the rain ever stop!! Hi Alec,
Just a quick note to say 'hello'. I was in the CF1K last year, and was looking forward to this year until mother nature threw me a curve last November. I had my back surgery last week, and now enjoy being able to sit at the computer without arm and hand-numbing pain. 2 May is the first check on the fusion progress, and will probably set the tempo for the next four to six months. With luck, I'll be back in the saddle this Fall, and certainly by next Spring. All went well and here's to a full season of rubber-down riding for you. Hope you got your lights fixed. Stay in touch, Mike
Wow I like the bike. You mount it way up on the handle bars? How easy is that to take on and off? Mine is a Boulevard C50T. I looked hard at the Spirit from Honda, but liked this one a bit better and it had a great deal on it at the time. I need to get some current pictures up.
Congrats!! Great adventure, neat the whole family can work with it too. I have a HP camera just like that... tip it fits perfect in the pelican water proof box I have on my handlebars. I love that camera, fits in a vest pocket, or front pants pocket. A great point and shoot, I can work it with one hand as sometimes I have it tethered to my tank bag and I take pics without stopping. It can take a licking and keeps on ticking. Good reward for your accomplishment.
Lights, Camera ... I agree ... glad you are driving safely ... HOWEVER, I sure hate when those sorts of BRIGHT LIGHTS are coming down the road facing me or I get the glare in my rear view mirror. That said ...... I suppose since it helps you be a safer driver ... I am good with it! :)
Always enjoy Alec,

Looking Good! The cockpit is looking like a serious rally bike Alex! Engine noise is pretty common problem, you might try wrapping the mix-it in tin foil. I know it sounds crazy but you need to either shield it or move it farther away from the alternator.
My name is Alec and I am from Eastover, SC. I am the father of six and along with my wife and kids we raise fainting goats on our little farm.
My first motorcycle was a 1974 Honda CB250T that I bought for $200 in 1981. That was the first of many bikes. This blog will allow you to share in my passion for motorcycles and the places they can take you.
When I started this travel blog I had just purchased a 2007 Honda Shadow Spirit VT750DC. I purchased this bike new in May of 2008, after years of being without a bike, to be a simple run around bike to save gas and have a little fun on. I... full info
