First day in Thailand! The land is beautiful, the people are lovely! We met with our Thai buddies at the airport and drove together to their school. We struggled through conversations with Google Translate and their understanding of English. I feel bad that I do not know any more Thai than sawaatdee kah! They helped us up to our rooms, and shared some of the most delicious fruit I have ever eaten: dragonfruit, clementines, and bananas! They told us the names in Thai, and all had a laugh at our poor pronunciations. My Thai buddies told me about some of their favorite foods, including some kind of spicy papaya salad, which they said they both love. Looking forward to the rest of my first day in Thailand!
