An update on Korea

So it's been a couple of weeks since I wrote in this thing. The last month has flown by. So much has happened and changed. I've changed and things around me are becoming normal. About a week ago I started to feel like a daily grind was in place. I'm now sick of Korean food and I am craving cheese and familiar food like crazy! At first all the fish, kimchi and mystery meat for exciting and exotic but now lunches are 30 minutes that I'm constantly looking at the clock till I can get back to my desk to eat home brought snacks. The teachers have to eat the same lunch as the kids. I eat with Green and Red class and Tamara Teacher. (That's what the kids call us. Our first name and then ... read more

hello all, It's been two weeks since I've arrived in Korea. At this point I would like to stress a certain point that has been raised among certain members of my family. This blog space will in NO way measure up to even a fraction of how witty and philosophical Carolyn's letters home are. So, if you were expecting something like that than you will be disappointed. You will only find hard data, facts and mundane figures in what follows.........that being said...so Korea. IS AWESOME!!!!! Where to start. Everything is really really cheap. I can go to a Kimbab place 2 minutes from my house, have a full dinner and pay like $4 CAN. People for the most part are really friendly. Hi all, The flight over to Korea was a huge nightmare doted by little surprises. Leaving Toronto, 3 hours or so late was just the start. Thanks to the guy who brought fireworks onto a plane heading to Detroit on Christmas day, new security measures were put in place on all flights into the USA. My flight plan was supposed to go depart Toronto Pearson, to Chicago O'Hare to Incheon Seoul to Daegue. But at Pearson everyone was frisk searched by a security card before going on the plane and they also searched through all your carry-on luggage.
