Hello all, Just wanted to send a quick post saying that we are alive in Vienna. Watching the game at the Euro FanZone was awesome beyond awesome...despite the thunder and lightning. When we were in line for the match, the security people who were patting us down got to talk to us and Leah mentioned to her's that we were at a loss of where to stay. At the end of the match, the girl offered us a place at her apartment for the night...quite the upgrade from the aforeplanned train station. So we are here, getting ready for bed, after [View Full Entry]

So... We're in Prague. My tummy has finally adapted, which makes for a lot better sight-seeing. We went to Charles Bridge last night around sunset, when it wasn't too touristy and the castle was backlighted by hues of sherbert... quite beautiful. Today we hiked up to the castle, which was stunning, but blogging about it does not do it justice. There's not a whole lot more to say, other than to really get the full effect of Prague you need to see it, and not just by postcard. Tonight we're going to watch Germany pummel Turkey in the EuroCup semifinals on [View Full Entry]

Hello all, Sara and Leah TOGETHER speaking!! We are alive...though not necessarily well in Prague. But more on that later. Our last day in Berlin was spent at the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp and Memorial just outside of the city. How shall we describe it? It was...underwhelming. Don't get us wrong, we're not sadists--the amount of information built up over time about the evironment left us imagining something truly horrible. When we got there, the atmosphere just didn't exude...travesty (Leah word). There was quite a bit of information about it and we paid €3 for an unnecesary audio [View Full Entry]

Hellooooo American friends and loved ones, Sara speaking. So for awhile last night we didn't know whether we were in Germany or Turkey. For those who don't know, Turkey beat Croatia last night in the EuroCup quarterfinals and apparently, Berlin has a large Turkish population. Well, the city went totally nuts!!! Leah and I meandered down the streets amongst a throng of jubilant Turks waving flags and shooting off fireworks-- it was a blasttt and a half! It really improved my perception of the city, as I was a bit intimidated by the intial industrialized, graffiti-ed look of it as we [View Full Entry]

Hello all, Sara here! So, after a very long train ride from Amsterdam, we are safe and sound in Berlin at our hostel, watching Croatia play Turkey in the EuroCup. Funny stories about how our train ride to Amsterdam went...including how we learned days of the week in Dutch and other random happenings. Internet is not cheap, so the entries may be a bit more intermittent.... Love you all, chat with you later! [View Full Entry]

Hallo friends, Leah speaking. Today I ventured over to the van Gogh museum to see some fine art. I ended up going by myself because Sara just isn't refined enough to appreciate such beauty (I keed ;) I keed) so I was all on my own... Which is dauting for me because I have this much ·· directional skill. I ventured out into the big bad world all by my lonesome, afraid of getting lost and ending up in Belgium (which wouldn't be such a bad predicament, really) but really all I did was take a right and then a left [View Full Entry]

Hallo again. Leah here. So today was an interesting day, we were going to see a free symphony at Concertgebouw (the big musical place) but got lost on the way there and decided to bag it. Typical. Instead, we decided it would be fun to get lost in the middle of the city (not hard for us) and stumbled upon a couple of open-air markets. There was an assortment of chocolate genitals, and I almost bought a chocolate penis, but refrained. Then, on the way home we were meandering through Vondelpark when we passed by two interesting spectacles: On our right, [View Full Entry]

Watch out for the bike!! That's pretty much how it's been for most of the day, here in Amsterdam. Oh, Sara here. We had a hell-ish flight to Amsterdam with Woody dolls, crying babies, and men who don't know personal space (Leah will go into detail). My mom's friend Ron picked us up from the airport and took us to his house, where we met his wife Jeanet and his girls. I've been fighting mondoooo sleepiness so the bed is starting to look verrry good right now. Tonight we're going to be watching the Netherlands vs. Romania game with the van [View Full Entry]
