There won't be much to this entry since I carelessly left my journal back at my apartment. Oops. Although, I did manage to bring a smaller notebook with me to work - one I've been using for jotting down little tidbits here and there (a very important tool for journalists). ;) First and foremost, I was walking around People's Square - popular destination for tourists and the hot spot on the metro - and two chinese people started talking to me. Mostly, the young girl, Wu Jing, wanted to practice her English and I was the closest available target. Her friend, Peter (English name), was just along for the ride. I remembered my journal today!!! Wahoo! Although, for my fans (hehe), it means there's some catching up to do. I'll try not to write a book, but I can't promise anything - too many bizarre things happened. May 16th - Day of Departure I woke up at 3:20a.m., got dressed, left my room at approximately 3:45a.m., and took the hotel shuttle to the airport. I was the only passenger in the shuttle (wonder why at 4a.m.?) and my driver was really nice. After checking my bags (both without a checked-baggage fee) and after passing through security, I decided to take a little siesta. Surprisingly, I was pretty comfortable and hardly anyone was in the airport so it was very safe.
