Jungle Jen and I are spending 5 days in Florida, visiting family and naturalizing, before heading to Ecuador. We spent the day at Corkscrew Swamp in Collier County and enjoyed large numbers of passerines including seven species of warbler (Prairie, Myrtle, Palm, Black and White, Pine, Common Yellowthroat and Northern Parula. We also saw a Painted Bunting, Great Crested Flycatchers and Baltimore Orioles). The highlight was watching a Musk Turtle eating a dead praying mantis! Five days until we fly to the Galapagos Islands!!
