Sounds like you guys are having a great time. Talk about too much to see, Rome is the place. I was there for nearly three months and didn't get to see and do everything I wanted to. I am glad you got to experience cinque terre, I was also around the region for a bit of time...no hiking, but saw some pretty cool places that were uniquely European. One of my favorite things about Italy was the food, I hope you didn't pack on the 15lbs I did :). Have fun in Barcelona!
