Kelly's Pics. Hey Richard, I added some more photos to my existing blogs. Go and find them... Theres still more but it takes so much time. I have to add them for my family too so they can see.
Hello from London Hey Richard, Dakotah and I are on our way back home. Its sad. I just dread going back to work back home. Thats great that you got the package sent off. Temba should be back in Zim tomorrow or the day after. I'll be on more regularly once I get back home and will update my blog too. I got a new insight on longterm missionary life in Namibia. And was amazed at the contrast between Namibia and Zim. Take Care and travel well. Kelly
Pffft... Rich you are being adult and responsable there as well. Job, Travel, friends... the only difference you have back home is job, paintball, friends. You really dont have to change much when you do come back. You just have a permanent home and not have to shuffle around to accomodate other people. or so I think haha! Anyways have fun man!
good times! hi Richard,
have been meaning to comment for a while.. i've followed your blog every few days from the start. loved the story about the week camping solo on the beach.. something i could get right into for sure. and beautiful photos from the hike and the river rafting too. you're a brave soul to jump off that bridge, yikes! but it's very good on you, you're looking remarkably well!
perhaps bump into you sometime back in the Loops, i shall also be leaving work soon (June 7) to return to school (Horticulture to start... my goal is Medical Herbalism, Ethnobotany or maybe even becoming a Naturopath eventually).
anyway i've been (vicariously) enjoying your adventure, thanks for writing about it, and good luck with your book on travel stories!
seeya, dana
Glad you're working Glad you are working. You do still plan to be home for Ryan's wedding - right?? No excuses!! I was in Vernon for the week-end for ESS- Mobile Support Team semi-annual meeting. Took a course and then did our group business meeting and some talking about if BC gets flooding - could be bad up north or the lower mainland if the weather turns warm/hot fast and stays that way a week or more; or have heavy rains. So far we are having cooler nights and beautiful warm days - which is ideal for slow snow melts. They are saying 150% of average snow pack in most areas. Most of which has to come down yet. Did some shopping in Vernon - mostly looking, but had a great time seeing something different. Switched teams at work - now have the best supervisor in the center - very pleased!! Well, nothing else new that I can think of. Take Care...hugs!!! Mom
hey well im glad to hear that your are having fun . i hope the job can pull in some revinue for you and keep you going and having fun. it is warming up here and aerating is going strong . i have 90 customers right now and they are still coming in . im glad i did it now. well take care and have fun man .
WOW Just got back to school after 1 1/2 weeks off for Easter. Still can't get your blog to work at home. WOW is all I can say about everything you've done in the last month. Took me almost 45 min to catch up on journals and pics. They are wonderful. But Bungie jumping????? Take care. Aunt sheila
couple of things Couple of things, I want to mention...I wouldn't advise cancelling your BC Medical as it may cover somethings if you have a problem and your travel/medical insurance doesn't...also if you have to come home fast for medical reasons...BC Medical is here waiting to cover you when you get back. Anytime you want to stop by for supper; I can make mashed potatoes...lol. So are you going back to take the bartenders course ??? Have fun, be safe. Come home soon - we miss you!!! Love, Mom
You are King of the World now!!! Wow Rich I am soooooo surprized that you jumped. I remember watching people and cringing for them as they jumped. There are some great little towns around Queensland, not sooo "Whistler Like" that I am sure you will enjoy. Take care Brother-in-law, I want you back in one piece for the wedding.
From your very proud Sister-in-law
Have an idea Hey Richard, I have an idea. If you came home and took the nursing course that you were talking about, you could do the things that your friend is doing...and more...and you could get paid for doing it. A friend's daughter is taking the course and says after you get past the first year, it's alot easier and you (being male) can get a job anywhere in the world!! Just an idea you may want to think about. Hi from Dad! Love, Mom
Cities you mentioned I think Queenstown is were the guy from the train --years ago -- when you were 5 or 6 we met a teacher from New Zealand hmmm his last name was Hunt or Hunter, or was that his first name ???- not sure. He was from Queenstown - we sent postcards to him and he sent one back. Christchurch is the city that my dentists tech is from. She just came back 3-4 weeks ago. Her 84 year old father still lives there. --- I know, I know...useless trivial info. Just trying to relate. lol You should check out any place you are thinking of going to - have heard on the news that there is some severe flooding in a few places in New Zealand and some of the orient. This is there rainy season, right? If you want to get a job, you'll have to stay still long enough to apply and get a reply. Good luck! Love, Mom
great photos Hi Richard,
I am back in Saskatoon and trying to adjust. The weather isn't quite as nice as Uganda or Kenya. Our hottest day was 40C in Mombassa with really high humidity. It was a shock to come back home. Great pictures. Hope your trip continues to be good.

Take care and keep sending updates.

possessions??? I thought that you knew that we had a huge garage sale making heaps of money off of your stuff. You missed out!! You aren't planning on coming back anytime soon right...he he he just kidding its all here and in order. I can't wait to see pictures of the waterfalls and cave lakes.
Keep on trucking...
finally checking out travel blog Sounds like you are having a wonderful excrsion/adventure. Makes me envious. Perhaps when we retire....if we are willing to rough it and not want 5star accommodations. Great pictures!
You may be missing some things from Canada ie. perogies and steak. When you get back home, it may be comfortable, but it could be rather tame and boring when routine sets in.
Denise---another aunt
Contiki Maybe, there are three sort of tour companys here. 1) stray (straytravel.com) 2) magic and 3) kiwi experience. All are pretty good they are about the same. They mostly go to the same places. If you go in may make sure that there are daily departures, and or that you get a discount because of the end of the season.
And when u gals come over to NZ give me a hollar. I'd love to go have a beer with the both of you. you gals are a blast!
i gave paul paul and steve to your link hey i gave the pauls and steve the link i bumped into them on line last night and they where asking about you . also have fun traveling and good job on the 100 dollars an hour job . if only we could make that kind of money all the time ah . well take care and most of all have fun .
Contiki Hey...
sounds like its all getting sort of complicated!!!!
once you start getting tax numbers its just not fun any mmore...
i'm planning on heading over to nz at the end of may and am thinking of a contiki tour, have you heard anything about them???
envious We have tried viewing your blog from home and could not get it to work (you're the expert) so I sent it to my school computer and I got it to finally work. I'm envious of the trip and hikes and I know Gerry would be if he could see as well. Have fun and be safe. Look forward to the updates.
