Oops.. nearly didn’t make it. Someone left the passports in the guest house safe - long story but they were retrieved in time. Spent three nights & four days at the Victoria Falls Hotel, where at last pulling the honeymoon card worked, landed us the honeymoon suite overlooking the gorge/bridge/falls mist. For Tracy’s birthday we took a sunset cruise down the Zambezi River seeing croc’s, elephants, hippos on the way. The Hotel was like stepping back into the 1930’s, it was an amazing place and the grounds were often visited by worthogs, baboons, monkeys & there were eve [View Full Entry]

Arrived in Perth early morning and drove south along the old coast road to Busselton for one night. The next morning we drove down to Pemberton for Jo & Dennis' wedding at Brook Dam and the wedding reception was held at an old mill town. Great wedding in a lovely location and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The next day, late afternoon, we headed off to Margaret River. We were warned about the dangers of kangaroos on the road but didn’t imagine that we would run one over. RIP Skippy! We then spent a few days in Margaret River sampling the [View Full Entry]

Following on from our last update. Our last game drive was probably the best one as we saw a cheetah with her two cubs. The mother cheetah gave chase to a kudu who escaped. During the chase a troop of monkeys scattered into the path of the cubs who gave chase and then where chased by the monkeys! Started Garden route at Plettenburgh Bay through to Hermanus which was very scenic with mountains, gorges and coastal views. Stayed in various guest houses which we were able to pick and choose as its late in the season. Temperature in early mid-70's [View Full Entry]

With the water freezing and the sharks not keen on hanging around after sampling the chumming bait. We were not too disappointed at not being able to get in the cage. However, we managed to get a great view of the sharks from the boat due to the water being crystal clear. The most scary part of this trip was when one of the boat engines caught fire just as the sea mist descended, leaving us with an hour of zero visibility & smoke back to the jetty. [View Full Entry]
