Bali old timer Sorry Fash, no surfing - too old for those kind of antics, thought i did pretty well to get up that hill. Also no calzone pizzas though did have the egg breakfast thing which was nice/bizarre. Also didn't make it to the open graves though sounds like a fun day out. Back in London on Wednesday... eeekkk... and look forward to catching up when i'm back. x
Baliness what no tales of surfing , calzone pizza's , eggs cooked in hot springs for brekke ! - did you make it accross the lake to view the open bamboo graves ?
green with envy I am absolutely green - you have been having an amazing time. You might find I'm repeating myself as I have already typed this comment but it mysteriously disappeared. I'll try and finish this time. We are still in Ioannina, waiting for the kids to come back from camp, Athens, Germany etc. Andrew is working in Lesvos and won't be coming back - he applied for and got a place at University of Lincoln to study architecture - so you might be seeing something of him. Will text Louise as to the whereabouts of the duvet. Lol Sue et al
Golf averse Greetings from Sydney, Uncle Crocky...Your mowing must have cost you a fortune if the men's final is anything to go by - at the risk of repeating myself and futher incurring the wrath of your 8 iron - what a match!! Surely you had to tear yourself away from the buttercups and daisies? We stayed up ALL night to watch it but, very disappointingly, fell asleep during the second rain break and so missed the final set - much cursing!
You are right - golf has not even been mentioned in the blogs so far...disgraceful. But, to be honest, our time away hasn't been totally golf free. Last tuesday we borrowed (and watched!) the Caddyshack DVD from our motel owner though sadly our stamina couldn't take Caddyshack 2 (whose could?). We also spotted a very fine looking indoor 18 hole mini golf centre in Queenstown but sadly didn't play as the cable car and it's views of a non-plastic lake was more tempting. To be honest, they are not exactly golf mad in South America - though there is a rumour that the Peruvians have just discovered an ancient inca links course on a scale to rival Macchu Piccu - watch this space!!
Thanks for reading the blogs, we appreciate it. Will update very soon from Oz. Hope you are well otherwise and see you when we get back. xx
Greetings Just a few words - because I hate writing when I'm not being paid - to say how much I'm enjoying the blog and the pix. It's rivetting stuff. Only slight criticism is that there's too much mention of tennis and nothing on golf. What are the courses like in Chile? How do the fairways of Argentina compare with those in New Zealand? And what about green fees? Despite the fact that you're obviously a bit new to this game, I'm enormously impressed and would urge you to consider a career in travel writing. I traditionally mow the lawn on Wimbledon finals' weekend so had better go now as it takes two or three hours to get the mowing going. Just to give you some idea of how prices have soared since you left, I shall probably get through about £25 worth of petrol trimming our lawn which, in your language, is the size of two tennis courts or, more precisely, the 12th green on the Old Course at St Andrews. Keep having fun and those blogs coming. Love, Crocky
Climate envy Hi Elena, thanks for the mail and the support!! We are very jealous as it has not stopped raining/hailing here.. still... enjoying NZ very much, check out the blog for more photos..

Hello Iain and Suzie, great to hear from you and thanks so much for your messages. I´m about to write another blog so won´t bore you with too much detail, suffice it to say that we are still having a brilliant time, you should try it!! We are currently in Mendoza near the Andes, and the border with Chile, quaffing wine, munching steak and generally enjoying life. How are you guys? Love Nige and Louise. xx PS Nige is now permanently beard-less!!
Hi Louise, My geography is improving no end. You and Nige in South America and Vic in Africa with Jonesy (her Nige) . Can go to the village quiz... will be top. Great reading and photos, trust you are planning a book on your return. Following you . Jackie.
New York vs Machu Picchu - who wins? Hello Bins
So great to hear from you, sorry we didn´t reply earlier, issues with the blog (or rather our understanding of it). Hope you are well, your trip sounds very exciting, are you going with Janet?
We are having an amazing time despite the mossies, midgies and any other hungry creatures having their fill on an extremely regular basis. Peru is beautiful and we arrived in Cusco today which is lovely.
Photos now up on the blog which may give you a better indication of what we are experiencing - though we can´t quite put into words or pics the 12 hour bus rides, 6 hour high altitude climbs, constant packing and unpacking of extremely full ruck sacks and the sites, smells and feel of all the places we´ve visited. It is amazing and i have to pinch myself that it is actually happening..
Have a brilliant trip and please keep in touch, missing you.
Lots of love
Louise and Nige

Hello from Cusco Hi there, sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you let´s just call it teasing errors with the blog!!! So great to meet you guys too and spend that time with you on the Eclipse, which seems like so so far away now!!
Thanks for reading our blog.. there are pictures now though sadly not of the galapagos as Nige sent them home thinking we could still access them here which we can´t.... doh..
Ditto about London, we´ll put you up, clothe you, feed you anytime!!
Hope your "kinder" are ok and didn´t miss you too much.
Please stay in touch.
Love
Louise and Nige
PS we do the inca trail in 4 days time and counting... eek!!
no pics Hi to both of you. lovely to read your news and I'm very envious. I'm in the middle of decorating (again) will it ever end? But where are the pics? Elena said the same. Surely not too tricky for a professional, what? Lots of love from us all. Sue
So great to hear from you! It all sounds so fantastic, apart from the seasickness, altitude sickness and bottom problems - oh, and you can keep the small plane and front seats on the top of the bus, as well. I'm off on a little jaunt of my own next week: I'm off to New York. Not quite in your league, I know, but yomping through the handbag department of Bergdorf Goodman is not without it's hazards: will the Amex card self-destruct? How many pairs of boots can you fit in a suitcase and pass off with a casual "What, these old things?" at Customs? So keep rubbing in the lemon juice and don't stray too far from a loo - that is, in countries where they have loos.
Keep on having a blast and if you're running low on cash, call you father!
Love you loads and miss you both,
Bins
