Too hot, Too cold!! Beautiful photos, great blog, changeable weather!!! So glad you are loving the area around Julie's place, it's so gorgeous and somewhere we are longing to re-visit! We didn't find that pub, clearly didn't look hard enough ... or had too much grog of our own! x x x
Perfect Peterborough! We're so glad you love Peterborough, we knew you would! The weather wasn't quite that brilliant when we were there and the house wasn't quite that huge - sounds like Julies building has gone really well! Enjoy your stay :-) x x x x
A very important meeting in Canberra Hi Jan and Graham. We have been enjoying reading your blog from day one and it is just as exciting for us that you were able to meet up with Caroline and Andy and write about your experience in your blog. They are certainly enjoying life "down under" and now they have their magnificent machine to travel to places we will only every dream of.
We wish you happy days on your onward journey with many more adventures and many many more blogs. lol.
Kind Regards
John and Shirley
Special Meeting Hi John and Shirley, many thanks for your lovely comments. We felt as though we had known Caroline and Andy for years - they are a super couple. Maybe when we get back home we'll be able to meet up with you both. We are in Melbourne now, at my sisters house, so we are having a break from 'Sweetie' (but we do miss her!). Take care, love from Jan and Graham
it could have been: 'Driving' To Orange!! It takes nearly as long to think of the titles as it does to write the blogs!!! (Dad's brainwave this time) Mum xxx
Beautiful in Orange! How fab that you all managed to get together, that's great. We remember our walk up the mountain very well .... we also remember the other walk a couple of days later that nearly made me cry like a baby!!! I treasure the shorts - they're a great memory of very happy days! x x x
Graceful hippos - my favourites! What a fabulous place to visit, Australia does do good zoos!! Another one for our 'next time list'. I know why you didn't see any meerkats, they're too busy filming the latest "Compare the Market.com" advert!! x x x x
Just Bait Hi Jodie - thanks for your lovely comments. If it hadn't been the school holidays we may not have come this way but we're so pleased we did and we realise there are many more wonderful outback towns we may have to leave for another time. Best wishes, Pootling Possums
Hi there Pootling Possums,
Thanks again for the fantastic blogs, I am one of those people that have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of your entries, so congratulations on such a wonderful effort (and the strength to continue to write them!)
I have enjoyed reading them all, but especially the last few blogs as it brings back such wonderful memories of two holidays we took a couple of years ago. We went to the same places and just loved the atmosphere and everything those outback towns had to offer. We too loved Charleville and funnily enough our yabbie was of the same name as yours! Hoping you enjoy the cosmos centre, we were amazed at what it offered and what we saw, it was definitly worth the money in our opinion, so it will be interesting to read about your experiences. We also enjoyed the Bilby show.
Sorry if I have waffled on a bit, but thanks again for such interesting and informative blogs.
Safe travels
Jodie
Hi from Texas Howdy,
Reading your blog reminds us of our time in Port Douglas last year cycling 4 mile beach. We are halfway along Route 66 in Amarillo, Texas. Weather here not as good as yours, Yesterday it was 107F in Oklahoma, today its foggy and 53F - really cold.
Enjoy the rest of your travels, we'll be home long before you.
Love
Keith and Gill
Home to the Elliotts I can see why the Elliotts fell in love with Port Douglas, it is gorgeous even if it is being invaded by the jet set!!! Beautiful photos and glad you found the church. Funny that it reminded you of Dibley!! :0) x x x
Even the plants are out to get you! The Stinging Tree - shudder!! We did actually go looking for one, apparently they look like raspberry plants! Well done on the train pics, fabulous and I\'m very envious. To be fair you didn\'t really miss much on the river trip ... it\'s relaxing, I\'d say that was about it!! x x x
Crossing Paths Hi Pootling Possums! Thanks for the mention in your latest blog, a great read as usual. Brings back many happy memories of our time up at Tinaroo with Daryl and Sarah. We nearly crossed paths with you in Townsville the other day. Andy and I had a trip up to Magnetic Island, but by the time we got there I think that you had already left Townsville. Magnetic Island was lovely! Take care - KangarooJack
Hi and welcome to our blog. We have set out on our second great adventure in Australia, following in the footsteps of those magnificent bloggers The Wallaby Wanderers. Originally we were due to go in March and spend a few weeks with the Wanderers (daughter Sarah and son-in-law Darryl) but those plans were blown apart by the small matter of a triple heart bypass operation that Graham needed. However, all's well that ends well, Graham is fit and healthy again so we arrived in Aus on the 14th August and picked up 'PIE' the trusty Nissan Terrano that Sarah and Darryl bought last year and 'SWEE... full info
