Sock tip
Next time you pack, put a sock over each bottle of wine. Not only does it protect each bottle from breaking in transit, but H gets to take more socks so he doesn't run out and storage not an issue. You could then even play a game of choose the socks - whichever you choose becomes the wine of the day! Hope you've had some lovely sun today and all those socks have dried, you might just be needing them over the weekend.

Ah socks!

haven't got a clue
6 letters ending in 'd'.........'ribbed'? Impressive fishing score Howard and was the solution to the storage problem the cribbage board going overboard?

Where was yesterday's entry?
Yesterday afternoon I sat down at my desk with my lunch and opened up your blog in eager anticipation for the latest update... only to find there wasn't one! Later that day, sitting at the dinner table with mum she said 'Rosie didn't do her blog today!' She was very disappointed - seeing as there was no blog to help her procrastinate, she actually had to mark some books! We are all living vicariously through you and your boating adventure!

Seen Ray Mears?
Hi Sis and H, sounds a ball. At least river should be in fast flow which means going down stream you're hardly using any fuel. Was the hot shower after swimming the highlight so far? We're off to Newbury races tomorrow to meet up with gang and John and Lorraine from N Zealand. Bringing J&L back to Wey for a couple of days and then up to Reading on Sat for do - popping in to Mum's on way. Tell H to use the fish he catches as bait for a bigger fish. Keep paddling x x

Ditch the plant!
That'll solve the storage dilemma, only takes up valuable space, room for another four bottles there! Are you sure there's no room on the boat???

Essentials - stored?
Your essentials need to be consumed, and replenished, not stored! Hope you're both having a great, if cold, time. It'll be exciting reading about your adventures.

Happy Birthday
Hi Rosie and Howard a belated happy birthday to you Rosie. (Sorry I did not know). You sound like you are both having a wonderful adventure. I don't remember you mentioning doing this trip. Is it something you have thought about for a while or did it come on suddenly that you would like to go boating on the Thames. (A bit like Rosie and Jim). I guess you don't remember that program. Paul and I will be on the Thames in London on the 14 July. I believe it is the Silver Baracuda. It has been arranged by Thames Water as Paul has worked for them for 40 years. We are staying at the Mad Hatter Hotel, Southwark on the 13th - 15th July. You never know might see you along the river. Have fun and take care. Love Pauline.

Up the creek without a paddle
Happy Birthday for yesterday, Rosie! Love the blog and can't wait to see pictures. Glad to hear your epic voyage is underway after the months of meticulous planning - which evidently omitted checking that the gas tank was full, the loo empty and you had enough shillings for the meter. The vision of you two bumbling around in the dark with headlights on...priceless! Hadn't realised this was planned as a gastronomic tour - perhaps you could do restaurant critiques along the way and get sponsored by Michelin? Today Tampopo, tomorrow Limpopo?

Happy birthday
What an original and thoughtful present for the girl who has everything. Well done Howard...a mooring!
