Hey guys - I never went to Koh Sumui, we stayed in Koh Phangnan which was really nice and went to the full moon party there which was one of the most random experiences of my life! Still, the rest of your Thailand trip sounds like you've had a great time - and those elephants!! Wow! You don't get to do that everyday eh?!! Cannot wait to see you next week - hope you're not too upset about leaving. Have missed you loads and cannot wait to see all the pics and videos! Love you xxx

Re: Samui
Nah we didn't even bother with Koh Phangnan matey; we'd been told by several people (maybe correctly or incorrectly) that it was just as bad. Apparently there was a "black moon party" but after the horrors of Koh Sumui we couldn't be bothered with it to be perfectly honest. Maybe another time we'll venture there? The marine park was a much needed escape from Koh Sumui but the place is littered with washed up rubbish! Nice place; just needs a clean!

Samui
Totally agree with you and Uncle Travelling Matt aka Michael Palin aka Shep. Samui is the pits, hated it. Especially after Chiang Mai. Our beach wasn't too bad (2nd time around) on Samui but Phangnan was better. Do any raving at the Full Moon Party? I wish I'd have gone to the marine park but there was a bad storm the day me and shep were supposed to go. Enjoy peeps.

Re: Sounds Ace!
Hi Jez! Yeah we are great thanks; really enjoying the Thai food at the moment! Yup it was pretty good but not worth an expensive flight from the uk *just* to see the fireworks. However, there is so much to do in and around Sydney that it would make a great new years break. :o)

Re: You'll be back, believe it!
Yup; we know we'll be back! There are loads of tramping and climbing I'd (Phil) like to do on another visit. Yes,I heard you where all going back to NZ again. I hope you all have a great time - and hopefully the weather will better for you; we arrived at the end of one of the coldest/snowest winters they've had for years so where caught between a battle between winter and summer. As for the activities : your never too old :o))
