| 19th September 2009 leokasari12 | Great Pics - From: Paris Paris is amazing no? While true there is a Mc Donalds on the Champs de Eleysee you can have a glass of wine with your Big Mac! Your tower view was much better than the one our hotel. For ten euros a night extra we could see the tip of the tower if you weren't afraid to lean out the window and crick your neck 90 degrees or so. |
| 1st September 2009 daveplumber02 | - From: Stunning Santorini great photos; we have just got back are selves, this was are 10th year still not seen everthing cant wait for may next year |
| 1st September 2009 texaswillie | Excellant Photos - From: Paros and Mykonos Been there while on cruise ship. Did not get to stay long enough. You have some very good photos---thanks for sharing. |
| 14th July 2009 Sean McVitty | - From: Where the hell is Paul? Love it!!!! ...what an adventure. |
| 14th July 2009 PaulMac | I agree - From: New York, New York It takes time to discover a city, but then as a tourist, you do sometimes feel compelled to do "the sights". Last time I was there, I experienced a pretzel from a street vendor, and threw most of it in the bin. this time, I experienced a hot dog out of the bath water, complete with mustard etc. I can say I've done it now! I wish I'd tried the octopus in Greece... BTW, for other readers; the concierge site mentioned above is a good read, but is loaded with ads and pop-ups. |
| 13th July 2009 Deep | Excellent Pics - From: New York, New York You have captured the spirit of NYC very well....excellent eye for detail. Regards,Joydeep |
| 12th July 2009 Traveling101 | I really do (heart) NYC - From: New York, New York NYC is an awesome place, but sometimes the touristy spots aren't the places to get the best feel of the city. Here's a pretty interesting list of 10 things NOT to do in NYC, hope you enjoy... http://www.concierge.com/ideas/hotspots/tours/500723 |
| 12th July 2009 Brett | Great pics Paul - From: New York, New York I so much want to go back to NYC. These are great pics |
| 10th July 2009 PaulMac | Thanks - From: Where the hell is Paul? Thanks for your compliments, Alicia. I'd happily return to Santorini anytime, although I need a month to catch up on savouring my own bed, holding my kids, and doing some washing first! I'm going to need an equal amount of time to work out which of the 10,000 photos to print out, but I'd reckon there's going to be at least one giant print of Santorini on my living room wall very soon. |
| 10th July 2009 denidax | nice one - From: Where the hell is Paul? Funny entry!!!, it is kinda the same thing as we did in our trip... but with our feet: [diary=335308] |
| 10th July 2009 Alicia (used to be Hill) | You are the master ...... - From: Where the hell is Paul? Hi Paul, Not only am I jealous .... so completly jealous of you and your unique travel diary - but also so jealous of your talented One Handed Photography! You are the master of the One Handed Photo ... aka OHP (sigh) I had hopes, dreams and aspirations during my education at SCECGS but this talent of yours surpasses all of them! travel safe my friend - would be great to share Santorini stories on your return! |

| 7th July 2009 PaulMac | G'day! - From: Londinium Hi Ann! Great to hear from you. Perhaps the excitement of high speed train travel has worn off! The Eurostar was quieter inside than the Shinkansen, but having just done the return trip back to the UK, I'd reckon the Shinkansen still comes first. They do it with more urgency and precision over the poms and frenchies effort, which I guess adds to the excitement factor! I'd love to come west, but my flights are set in stone. Next time! |
| 5th July 2009 Ann Sanders | Better than Japan?? - From: Londinium Hi Paul. Trainspotter trivia... when U.K. & France built the Chunnel, they didn't meet at the designated point under the English channel! Better than Japan you say? Impossible! Love watching the orange striped shirt touring the world. My movie of the Fish Market has the same shirt in it. Awesome you met up with J.P. & Jenny; I'm so jealous. Which Nobu was J.P. more excited about? Skip T.O. & come west. Waterton, Banff and the Icefields are brilliant. Happy trails, Ann |
| 26th June 2009 Fang | fantastic!!! - From: Scotland Hello..Paul!! wow!!!! i love ur picture...hope everythings goes well with u, and hope we will meet each other again |

| 18th June 2009 PaulMac | Paris - From: Paris G'day. We stayed at the Hotel Splendid. Imaginative name... hotel-splendid-paris.com All of the rooms have window views, but being a wedge shaped building, only the double superior rooms look directly at the tower. |
| 18th June 2009 Kate & Mark | - From: Stunning Santorini hello Paul & Claire, Greetings from Toronto :) absolutely stunning photos - I must make my way to Santorini sometime soon! Glad to see your trip is going well. |
| 15th June 2009 Kate Long | Love the commentary and photos - From: Paris I am going to Paris in October with family and friends to celebrate my birthday. I really enjoyed your commentary and photos. Can you share with me where you stayed. The hotel room view you got for Clare is phenominal!Lucky girl! We were going to stay in the Marais district also but opted for the Hotel Muguet near the Eiffel Tower (for the views). |
| 14th June 2009 Clare | sublime - From: Paris Can't remember the waiter, although the hot chocolate was SUBLIME! I sampled a few cafes, before settling on one in Rue Cler, near Rue de Grenelle. Hot chocolate made from real Valhrona chocolate, complete with a sample sliver - bliss! Even gave up my mandatory latte for hot choc for a few days.. Lots of good food shops on Rue Cler, as well as a great Sunday (food) market. Don't miss the smelly smelly cheese shop! My enduring lerv for Paris continues - next time, one month. To be fair though - Cinque Terre, Italy was our fav spot for this trip overall. ;-) |
| 10th June 2009 PaulMac | Greek Ferries - From: Stunning Santorini I've had a few questions, so I thought I'd add that ferry info can be found at www.greekferries.gr. Timetables and companies are all there. I ended up booking through the ferry company websites direct, because they could be booked for next day, not +4 days... |
| 10th June 2009 PaulMac | Thanks Liliram - From: Stunning Santorini ...for your comments. You're exactly right. I should have tried the octopus, but I was on a time budget. Oh well, next time. I'll be back one day! |
| 8th June 2009 liliram | Funny captions........ - From: Positano and the Amalfi Coast You take very good photos. superb composition. and very funny captions. |
| 8th June 2009 liliram | Have yet to write my blog on Santorini! - From: Stunning Santorini Those photos are great. But you could have tried the octopus! Was in Santorini last March , but have yet to write down my blog. Thanks ..... i enjoyed your blog! |
| 27th May 2009 Jennie Jones | Photo's - From: Positano and the Amalfi Coast Fantastic photo's Paul. Just makes me wish I was back there again. Keep up the blogging I am really enjoying the experience of feeling like I am(almost) there too. |
| 24th May 2009 PaulMac | - From: The beautiful Cinque Terre I'll have to watch the movie again to see it. It was a truly astoundingly beautiful place to visit. |
| 19th May 2009 Liz McGrath | Beautiful - From: The beautiful Cinque Terre I think that this is the place that they filmed part of the movie "The Talented Mr. Ripley". Wanted to visit ever since viewing the film! |
| 16th May 2009 Vick | Beautiful - From: Venice loving following you travels and your photos are truely amazing! |
| 12th May 2009 Liz McGrath | Marvelous - From: Venice I think you're right - you would need more than a day, if only to get the hang of the ferry schedule. Your cousin Matthew went to Tuscany on a school trip last year and spent a night and a day in Venice. He loved it as well. Happy Trails! |
| 27th April 2009 Liz McGrath | Cool trains - From: Nikko Wow Paul ... no wonder you were so enthralled by these trains! I'm very impressed. Canada will seem like a fifty-year throw back in comparison. In Ontario we have very limited train service - but this you'll experience on your arrival. Had to laugh about the dressups in the Park. My friend in Beijing tells me that there's a park where people go and ballroom dance! |
| 21st April 2009 samantha crawford | Love the photo\ - From: Look out World, here I come! Have a great time ! Your pics are great and bring back memories of my former life in HK x (sam Claire's friend) |
| 20th April 2009 Liz McGrath | Oh my God, you're off! - From: Look out World, here I come! What a wonderful idea Paul...I really do feel like I'm sharing your trip. A travelblog is much, much better than a postcard. I'll follow your progress -- enjoy! L |
